Wow!
I've always been following your tuts in the sculpting section and its good to hear you finally have a dvd coming out.
I've never sculpted....but who is to say I won't be able to do it with practice, right?
I think I'm going to pick up this bad boy.
Btw, how long is it? From start to finish, including the two mini lessons?

This one is really well done folks....Petey shares a ton of his secrets...and it will help even 3d artists looking to understand sculpture principles as well. The same stuff applies to 2d creature design as well. Great stuff....

i.was.ink: It's 2 hours 11 minutes long in total. It has everything in there to get you up and running. The only thing missing is the painting portion which deserves it's own DVD. (coming soon)

Qitsune: We're just waiting on the final proofs from our distributor. Once we have those we'll release it.

Regards,
MassiveDVD

Nice! I am definitely going to buy this one. I had one scuplture class about three years ago but didn't really learn much. After I get this DVD that will most likely change.

I just watched the DVD proof, wow that was inspiring!
I've only made 1 sculpture in my life, it was a college project. Now I totally wanna get a brick of Sculpey and try something new! Seriously, I'm all giddy inside, I can't wait for the weekend!

One question:

Will there be another video that covers the making of molds? Or does this one by chance include that part of it all?

magicgoo: This one does not cover making molds. We're considering covering that subject as well as sculpture-painting in future releases.

Will it ever be possible to download these releases? (after paying for them of course). Physical media is so last millenium, and it's not like dvds make it hard to pirate the stuff that's on them.

Stalsby: Glad you like it!!

Stinkywinky: Downloadable content is definitely something we're exploring Don't hold your breath for Petey's DVD, however, because it won't be available to download anytime soon. Other upcoming releases might be a different story.

meh, im just a purist, but i think physical media etc etc has a sentimental appeal. but by all means if a downloadable versions will get more ppl to buy then do it. gotta support the community.

I ordered my video on 3/24 and received it 3/28. I'm watching it with my 11-year-old daughter (she loves sculpture, especially with Sculpey). I especially appreciate Peter's outlook on the balance of skill and persistence -- it mirrors what I've suspected for years and what I try to teach my students today.

Even a casual review of the video reveals some incredible insights into the art form. I'm sure I'll have more to say after several more viewings.

Thanks, Peter, for making this! (Please do a biped next!)
