This is a 1/4 scale bust based on Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th part 2. The origignal was sculpted as a quick study in a material called WED clay. From start to finish on the sculpture I have about 6 to 7 hours into it (this is not including the painting and hair work that came later). If anyone is interested I can show some inprogress of the resin piece to the final painted piece sorry didnt take too many of the sculpture inprogress shots. I promise I will take more on the next bust.
These pictures show a nearly completed piece with just a bit a styling left to do. It was hard getting the pics just right but they are close but they still dont do it justice in my opion.
The eye brow is very carfully hand laid. The trick is to use a damp paint brush to direct the hair in the direction you want.
The beard stubble also had a certain look to it in the movie... You know what I mean the teen that want facial hair so bad he never wants to shave and it ends up just looking creepy! I think I got it...
The distorted side of his face the hair was thin and wispy. I may thin this out a bit or just style it more.
The kit is now availible and I will snap a few more shots with the shirt.
Hope you guys enjoyed some of the process on this guy... It was fun and I wanted to add a new element to a sculpt. Basicly more than just paint.
cool that you added hair on him. the jason character in the movie had no hair i think or atleast much less. but this makes him more human looking. he looks stupid and sad.
The Hunchback of notre dame comes more to mind when i see this then jason for some reason. that is if i wasnt presented with the fact that it is.
looks great. detail and textures are amazing.
That is just TOO realistic!
it looks great. But I think no jason is complete without a real hockey mask.
btw what is the asking price of this sculpt?
great work. i like the paint also.
