hello everyone, i'm Voiden from Taiwan, new on this board
currently a college student, not major in art or design, unfortunately.
I've been viewing threads here for some time, with drawing as my hobby, i'd like to post some of my works and maybe listen to some opinions.
basically i mostly do pencil sketches, some watercolor. and i started with Computer drawing (painter essential) abt a few months ago.
oh, i'm really curious abt how ppl draw with photoshop, i've been having problems figuring that out.
by the way (maybe u guys can tell anyway), the first two are watercolor,
and the other two are done with painter essential(came with my drawing pad)
now some more sketches and CG
the chars in your first post are super cute! i would use more contrast in your photoshop paintings.
thanks, hp, i really need more practice on color use.
and it's like i don't really know how to draw with photoshop,
do u simply keep adding layers? seems to be a lot of work
alright, i'll just keep posting. maybe someone will eventually have something to say
now some sketches, doodle, done during some classes at school
wish i knew how to draw with photoshop
I really like your pencil and watercolor, your faces are very expressive, i like that a lot What program did you use for the last 2 posts? As for painting in photoshop, I don't know how I learned or if I even learned it yet, but I just started out with a simple brush and and have the opacity set to pen pressure and then I try to vary the flow of the brush. The way to learn, at least for me was just to play around with it and see of it reacts to what you do, I also found it hard to find good tutorials online explaining these very basic techniques. I don't know if this help at all, but good luck with it.
Hey, these are really cute. I'd pay attention to the proportion of things. Also, watch of for forshortening of the arm. For exapmle, the dude in the suit in the first post, his arm is what should be foreshortened because its closer to the viewers eye. I don't know how to explain it better (because I'm awful at explaining anything) but yeah...
Anyway, keep it up!
CUTE. I think you should work on your anatomy since the hands and the waist( i think) are too small. I love your landscapes~ and the watercolouurs keep posting !
Hi ! Take a peek in my sketch book?My Sketchbook
hey nice gallery. really like those cute characters. one thing i realized is that your drawings and paintings look very pale. maybe you should try to use some more saturated colors ( i had the same problem a year ago)

these are great characters, very cute. Would love to see a series of illustrations with them. or better, illustrated books.
Don't worry about your photoshop skills right now. Just practice and it will go to a level next to your watercolor skills.
@jskotte: thanks a lot, the problem i have with PS is that the strokes don't exactly blend together, instead they just multiply, and the overlapping parts seems odd to me. so i've been using Painter Essential 3
@Neonduck: thank u! i draw a lot of faces, but still trying to get better. in fact the massive drawing of ppl figures has lead to an unbalanced skills
@geckochan: appears that cute stuff is wat most ppl are interested in seeing, tho it's not challanging in terms of skills, it's like recreation of drawing to me
@onisan: oh well it just feel like a lot of the great works i saw on this forum are from PS. i have been trying it out, but it's either technical or just require a lot of patience. which i kind of lack
@ garble arch: thanks for the input. that's kind of a earlier work of mine, but still i understand wat u mean. i sometimes do get carried away when drawing figures.
@puffynose: thank u, that's a problem i'll keep working on. amazing that u like my landscapes, i think that's my weak part.
@qikalain: thanks a lot, the thing is i've only had some trainings in pencil and watercolor, then i skipped right to computer without proper training or much experience in colors. will keep working on it
@ivan turcin: i've been having that idea(illustrated book) for a LOOONG time, i have some some short comic-like with the characters, maybe i'll post them later on
painter essential 3
another face practice with painter essential
