I've been on this forum for a little while and get accustomed to seeing everyone's avatars and user names. In a way, I sort of generalize who you might be as a person by the avatar and handle. I know I shouldn't, but I think a lot of people do.
As Bruce Pluto points out later in this thread, I was prompted to do this when everyone found out Madster's a woman because we tend to associate the actual person being the avatar we see, even though it may be way off.
This thread is to talk about your wacky avatar and user name. For example, here's me...
ParkerD. "Parker" is my last name. I wanted to be just "Parker" but it was already taken. "David" is my first name. I didn't want to be "ParkerDavid," and so I just went with "ParkerD," because it had a nicer ring to it.
My avatar is a self-portrait, slightly demented, that I did of myself in adigital painting.
My subtitle: "Rise... Let me see your ridiculous face" was a quote from Kill Bill Vol. 2, by master Si Fu.
What about everyone else?

username: long strange story, too lazy to type it now, probably too lazy to type it later. No, there is no chance in hell you will guess it, make any assumption you like, you will be 120% off base
avatar: same as the username... you're not gonna guess it. Even though all kinds of obvious assumptions could be made about both... trust me... you wont guess it ;P
since you asked
my avatar is a close up of one of my sketchbook pages from about a yr ago. i dont really like it now, but it was one of my better sketches at the time
|ntern is just a different wat to spell intern, which was my nickname in college, which was given to me by 2 of the seniors in the art program who were friends of mine. there was like 3 other "Mat"s in the art department, so intern it was
I used to be a big RPG fan. And Shadow, from Final Fantasy VI was my favorite character. but that was always taken on forums. So his ninja dog's name is Interceptor. I went with that.. All my friends, and even my sister call me that now, lol. Or Inty.
And my avatar.. well... who does'nt like bacon?

My User Name - Either something really gross like phlegm that has magical powers or Goo, the blue whale shaped girl from from Gumby, who is magic.
My current avatar is the face from one of my old paintings.
My signature is from an MST3K episode, "Manos, the Hands of Fate," where they say, "What this movie really needs is Marc Singer," but it's modified for interweb usage.
All of which are lame, but whatever.
Well.. the name is the avatar. I only recently put up a pic instead of my typical gel symbol
My work: [link]
Some friends and I had a BF1942 group.. not enough people for a clan. We all went as "X_Guy".. there was "Die_Guy", "That_Guy", "FarSighted_Guy", and I was "Some_Guy". I thought people would get a kick out of seeing that their "m14 put a hole in the head of some guy". That was the most recent usernick I had come up with before joining the forum. I think the rest is self explanatory.
I used to roleplay a paladin with wisdom score of 4 called Talmir. It was fun, and I needed a name to register so I chose that. The avatar is Cthulu, Elder god and soul eater. Fear him! FEAR HIM!
www.slash.slash/slash/slash/slash.jpg pronounce that!
My avatar is from a pic i made some time ago. I use it because it used that pic on my workshop badge.
uhhhh that was class. Mine is the old sledgehammer dealOriginally Posted by DavePalumbo

My avatar is just from my first real attempt at a character design, it was pretty darn crap but hey i love a little history to my presence on the internet.
My username is just derived from science which use to be my favourite subject at school, science-boy was too much a hassle so i took it down to sciboy after my first year on the net. =P
It's delight. From neil gaimans Sandman.

Often there is no more than a little plaque to reveal that, against all gynecological probability, someone very famous was born halfway up a wall.
I always dress in black or dark colors. I started bowling under the name 'darkchild' and have been for the last 5 years. My avatar... thats just me with a lightsaber... dressed in black of course.

12 years ago I was initiated into a gang by the name you see. I had to kill all the members in order to leave the criminal organization with my life and in the process my face was scarred beyong recognition. Now I conceal my wretched disfigurement behing this avatar, I is a self portrait.
Strange coincidence that every man whose skull has been opened had a brain.
when i first joined ca i was playing an online game where every one had super serious names like night stalker or death bringer. instead of having a pretentious name i went for oven g love as i didnt take it that seriously. when i registered for ca it was the first name that came to mind. looking back id rather have just used my real name.
my avatar is just a photo of me photoshoped
Heh, my polish name : Maciej means "the gift of god" in hebrew. I don't think many people would agree with that thoughOriginally Posted by MIKECORRIERO
- My nickname comes from my favourite band's fav song - Thirdeye by TOOL. It is not from the band Thirde Eye Blind (which sucks btw)
- My avatar is my drawing of Alan Moore. It makes people think I'm like 40 or 50, because they think I'm the guy in the drawing, but I'm not - I'm 23.
dammit, you fooled me..Originally Posted by thirdeye
Can't remember where my name came from, and I don't think its an intresting story any way. Think its a bit to 'emo' for my liking now tbh. The avatar in a photograph of a peice of graffiti by Banksy. Always liked the picture and it seemed fit for the job. That, and i do'nt have any work of my own worthy of avatarship .
We'll ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been
Which is where my name came from initially but I got fed up typing it in and asked Davi to shorten it in the big "username / title request" thread a while back.Originally Posted by Julianna

interesting post ParkerD,
it is funny how so many people begin identifying a person by the name and the little picture they put up of themselves on the left side of each post.
Far instance "madster", at least 50 people thought mad was a guy ( myself included). Someone even said that the mustache threw them off, and "thirdeye", your looking kinda aged there for a 23 year old lol.
Yep folks put a lot into those little images we see every day.
as for me "Bruce" is my nickname from work. "Pluto" is something I came up with after viewing the work of an artist named Donny Jupiter. I though that was pretty neat. Bruce Mars, Bruce Saturn and Bruce Moon just didn't have any ring to it. "Bruce Pluto" seemed to get the job done and I treasure the day when we can go to other worlds and not make the mistake of messing them up like this one ( just a personal opinion).
My avatar > a picture from the movie Dr. Stranglove. It may sound like some wacko porno film but thats way off-base. Its a dark comedy about nuclear war and the british actor Peter Sellers plays three parts in it. After seeing the movie some people either love it or don't know what the hell happened.
thats it for me, Bruce
my name is xenos, mursku xenos!
the good thing with a name like that is that ppl can find me easily just by typing my first name in google
xenos is my family name and it was given to my ancestors when they came to greece from the outer space. it's true!
my avatar is just a photo of me from year ago when i had long beard (makes me look old and wise)
well... my last name is snow, and I just pulled the last part out of my ass.
My avatar is some sketchbook page close-up thingie, not very creative.
based on VirusArts - my small armour and propmaking enterprise wich turned into my online portfolio. "Virus" because I tend to work far too long when having assignments and ruining my health (kind of a nickname for me among customers, since I tend to look like a walking ebola victim everytime I deliver my finished pieces), "Arts" because I somehow managed to get stuck in several fields such as illustration, metalworks, manufacture of film props, construction of equipment, reenactment and sometimes tattooing. I'm working on getting rid of all the hard work though and try to focus on my illustrations more (thanx to CA.org).
the logo of VirusArts. actually a screencap of an particleeffect-test a friend of mine made with my logo. though it looks kinda cool, so I made it my avatar. dont ask me how I got the idea for the logo itself... I only know that I made it around 1995 and kept it...
from "tribute of the jugger"/"blood of heroes"- thought it's quite fitting for this forum.
"How do you know you're good enough?" "You know." "What if you're wrong?" "You find out."

The Ilaekae are a matriarchal race of seven sub-species of near-humans who existed before (and still do) human civilization who went into hiding because of persecution by man. They are the basis for all of our legends and religious symbols...faeries, amazons, demons, devils, angels, werewolves and vampires, etc. I created them for a series of novels I'm working on that tells the story of how they re-enter the modern world and begin to interact with humans again.
My avatar is just a space filler to remind me that I'm not getting any younger, and I should get off my ass and do something...
"Data" + "meister" = master of information = someone who craves learning.
My avatar is an image of the cross, but in a modern context. I'm trying to say that Jesus Christ's message is still relevant and important in today's world.
I'm just realizing I don't have a signature up yet...so I'm going to update mine to display a painting/Photoshop project I did a few months back, along with a quote from the Scriptures I'm fond of.
My name was actually born one day when I was baking (I love to cook). Long story short, they were the worst brownies ever. I think they caused the plague back in the medieval days, they were that bad. The red sea parting? yup. My brownies.
My avatar was simply the only pic I had on my computer that small at the time and I didn't feel like going to find a new one, but I am thinking about getting a different one, b/c it's an old pic of me.
