Thanks for your replies. I just came back from a trip to the Netherlands, sorry I wasn't able to send a reply earlier. All of your comments are just what I needed. I just wanted to know if and how the pictures read. Special Thanks to Aeanas for the detailed crits. Infact there isn't any real black & white photograph they all are RGB files wich went through Photoshop. Apparently they don't read to well, which is maybe because of the size of the jpg. Normally the values are slightly blue to violet. I think the only one which really has just greytones in it, was the 2nd. The forth picture which is "unclear" what it's about, is actually about nothing. It's the only picture of these samples which was taken with a digital camera. (All the others I took with a reflex camera -don't know if this is the correct english word for it). I took it at dawn, whithout stopping my walk. It's just schemes, nothing clear, so you're right it obviously doesn't read to well, both of you -Johnnycab and Aeneas- seem to see it this way(but I don't agree that any picture has to be "about" something). Infact Johnnycab is right about the "shoreline". It was a shoreline but I did not really intend to take a picture of it. I just liked the composition of the tree on the right, the lights and the water. Makes me a bit sad that to you, Aeneas it seems to be the opposite , maybe it's just a matter of taste (or maybe I just did a bad picture )Cool that you seem to like the colour pictures. I don't do them to often. I'm actually working on a concept design portfolio and of course most works are drawings, photoshop-rendered artwork and sketches. Don't know if I should include some photographs. What do you think?
The last picture, which you all seem to like (thank you too, melvin), is a tree in a great wood in Bretagne/France (they say that Merlin lived there...(uh not in the tree, but in the wood...)). I reworked the colours just slightly, but the light as you see it in the picture was really like this! It really seemed like a magical place to me.
Thanks again for all your comments. Hope to "talk" to you again!
