Another cafe sketch...This one is of a character from my world that I've drawn before. Her name is Giorsal. I don't use references, except for on figure studies...tend to go from my mind most the time, so there will be faults But I'm working on it
A quick ballpoint sketch for possible designs for a tattoo...
Doom III IS INCREDIBLE!!! Hell is beautiful...the whole game is gorgeous...scary shit. Well here is a hell inspired doorway
another unpopular update from yours truly
Unfinished...obviously, inspired by Warcrafts Druid of the Claw unit/character.
A 30 minute tablet sketch in painter 8 (new with both), early stage sketch WIP, just trying to get a feel for this character im developing.
Started the 3D model today too, of same character...the Stygian Visionary.
Almost a whole month since my last reply from someone else! Im stoked
Nonetheless...here is another unloved, and deservingly so, update.
Quicky, unfinished, probably stay that way.
Only thing I like is the spear...

Damn vanilla chai is good...my cup of insperado.
Scribble de Dibble
I had a crowd of several kids watching me draw through the cafe window today. I feel like a trick monkey.
crappy protoss attempt, then switched to a reference based drawing of my other carrer goal if I cant make it in art, a paramilitary officer of the law.
On a night of Tangueray...Thanks Marko.
Excuse the drink spill smear at the Protoss chin...
3 hours at the cafe, and in a new shiny sketchbook!
Masked gunslinger, named Gunsinger.
Some quick sketches from the cafe once again.
Sketch of my character Giorsal, unfinished...attempt at a more intimate/random pose, need to reference for a "putting on sword-belt" position. And I gave her freckles, because freckles are attractive.
Random bad-guy shit.
Also did some logo designs today, but those don't really fit the theme.
Alrite here is an Expression exercise I recently found out about. Like it alot, will be doing more. Oh and the school decision inspired one
TRY IT OUT!
Wonder if I can get 2 months of commentless views out of you fellas...we beat 1 month.
Tried painting today, first real attempt...still workin on it.
But I did some figure studies in my good ol sketchbook, while letting the base coats dry for tonight.
Curvy Voluptuous woman.
Quick thumbnail sketches to get ideas.
And something else, but im putting it in WIP gallery, cause I want to work on it more, and actually get crits or feedback.
Rehash of the one above, long day...my life is being consumed by World of Warcraft.
20 more days guys, then we will have 2 months of your helpful comments, or rather a lack there of.
Self portait, practicing painter8 w/ tablet, still new
The last self-portrait is pretty good and shows and amazing progression since the first one. You're creative, and alot of the stuff you do has some nice design elements....but...Dude, listen to everyone's advice and go get an anatomy book! I want to see studies from all parts of the body up here and by the tons.
Okay, second crit is your line quality. On most of your sketches it looks scratchy and (no pun intended) sketchy. Pretty much everybody goes through this and it's not a huge deal but it makes your drawings look much worse than they would with nice bold lines. My advice is to take five or six or ten sheets of paper and just work on nothing but your lines. Make bold confident strokes and don't work if they're not exactly right. Just work on neat confident lines. another exercise is to start with one side of the figure (or whatever you're drawing) and try and do the whole outline in a single line.
Anyway, don't worry about your lack of replies. My thread's the same way. Draw for yourself and not anyone else. I know it gets frustrating though when you know you need help and no one will take the time. Jsut keep practicing with every second you can spare and it will come in time.
Noticed from your profile that you and I have alot of the same interests. Never done MMA, but I've done a few different martial arts and am currently working on some old WWII type combatives stuff. Pretty interesting and effective stuff based on old judo and boxing. Anyway, keep it up, bro!
Rkhon, listen to what I_am says, there's a lot of truth in it. People do come and look. Make yourself known on the boards, try to help people as much as you can yourself and thus promote your sketchbook. Every once in a while even the pros will come, take a look and probably even leave a note with some valuable hints.
Thanks fellas for the words. I try my best to force myself to do anatomy studies, and I do have 2 books. But I always seem to let my creative side take over, which I think is funner. Although I do understand the value, and that I need to practice.
Cool, I am, MMA fighting is awesome. Better than any other fighting Ive done. I train with www.jorgerivera.tv Going to UFC 50 with the Massachusetts Submission Academy II crew to get in on the action, on the 22nd.
Here is a self-kinda portrait.
A thumbnail image...
nice stuff, do you mind in borowing me your imagination ? =D
Also nice progres you've made up to now, only thing thats missing are lifedrawings, I believe you'll gett way further, at least it seems to work for me
Just keep em comming
Nagasch: Yeah I will trade some imagination for some of your "anatomy drawing patience"
Okay this is a painter WIP...still new, and redoing her arms and breasts, cause i done fucked up. not finished, and hints out there? sitll getting used to this software.
Okay I dunno what happened, but i just got angry while sketching today. Like feel burnt out on drawing, digipaintin, 3d...creative brain fart.
Well here is what i managed to squeeze out...im gonna go play ut2k4 now
well you seem very dedicated so i hope you take this the right way. keep drawing and dont be offeneded by this crit but you need to really study the structure and volume of the figure the understructure as well. grab an anatomy book and make it your god. look at the life drawing section here as well.
when your using your pencil try to go very light at first and slowly build up the structure. going too dark too fast will kill any drawing. try to build confidence in your strokes (im still working with this) try to figure out where that arm goes and then draw it instead of making random circles trying to figure out where it goes...does that make sense? you seem like you enjoy drawing so definately keep doing it but if you want to make this a career be prepared to make it the better part of your life. almost all of the great artists spend at least 6 or 8 hours a day drawing. wes i hear spends around 10 hours a day...and it shows in his work. you have to be dedicated. you have to be determined to get better if it is going to happen. good luck man ill check up on this thread in a while. peace out
Thanks Crunch for the good advice. Will try to keep those points in mind.
A portrait done for a friend
Gone for the next 4 days.
Well it was a productive weekend. I did a low poly 3d model in 2 days...can see it in the 3d section here on ca.
here is a drawing i did for/and of a friend
Well last week was shitty and unmotivated. Here's to better times.
A tree sketch from the head...i guess for render practice.
I dunno. Free sketching gets you to weird places.
