So I haven't been really active on this forum...but given the fact that I reaaally want to become a concept/cg artist...I should be around more often.
So I'll be just posting a few of my crappy works now and then.
Sorry if I fail that much at drawing though...
First picture is of one of the main characters in my story.Attachment 1606340

Man your Cyborgs/Robots are INCREDIBLE. That Samurai shot of them standing in front of that building is Bad Ass. Post more of your art.

Your Environments are beautiful. Reminds me of Feng Zhu's method of painting.

Wow nice environments. You seem to have a great sense of perspective, something I desperately need to work on. Can't wait to see more =]
Okay, a little update on two previous paintings and another two sketches. Not sure which one I'll finish first.
Peter, youre very welcome. I think youve got huge potential, the way youre already using colour and form show a lot of ambition and intelligence, and if you continue to generate stuff and study through drawing from life, and genrerally work hard, your work will move forward with leaps and bounds. Think about lightsources. Use simple 3d underlays as necesaary to do difficult things like tyres and replocated complex objects. Allow the image to develope but think about each componant, learn tricks from the best, read a lot for inspiration, and collate and study work you admire. I cant wait to see your stuff in a years time!
Yes, I have to study what you mentioned. I was foolish enough to add those underlays after, so I'll also keep that in mind! I'll try to do my best.
Okay, so here's today's environment practice. Kind of similar to that altar thing, but I've always loved places like these. I hope you'll like it!
(Also from my story I'm working on)
The Crimson Rider characters in your #11 post remind me of the Dragoons in Final Fantasy Tactics One of my favorite units. I'm jealous of all the great colors I'm seeing in here!
Keep up the good work!

Youre right to be a copycat, learning by copying masters is a good idea. I know exactly which Feng Zhu images hes talking about, i have them both the sketch and the finished piece in my files, and he did them as a demo for people to learn from. Maybe try doing some super accurate copies of Velasquez and Sargent, you will learn a giant amount.
Lucetta Gentile, from my story. Will probably work on this piece more later.
I hope you like her..
