Another sketch of a picture started.
Not the most exciting composition, but hopefully still good enough for practice from someone at my skill level. The nymph to the left side of the picture pose needs some changing, because her pose looks awkward, I want to have a feeling of the girls talking and interacting and will probably turn their head to give this feeling. But overall it feels like I'm off to a good start.
Any feedback is welcome.
They are really far apart to be having a conversation. They are also too far from the viewer for us to react to them in a meaningful way. I'd suggest cropping out some of the background on the left and right and coming in closer on the two figures if you want to show any kind of relationship between them. I'd also suggest making them bigger.
If you want the emphasis to be on the scenery than keep it as it is. But if you want the emphasis to be on the characters you'll need to get us closer to them. I know that is the size of the people in your reference photo, but don't be a slave to that.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all
science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who
can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
Thank you. I think i mostly doing the picture to practice on scenery, but you right about the character being to far away for it to be a feeling of interaction between them. I play around some more with the composition.
I changed the composition a changing one of the girls to new place and pose., yet, I prefers to not zoom in to get to practice drawing scenery.
Edit: The girl sitting on the ground needs to move down a little,
