todays photo study
some really weird stuff happening with the forum today?!?!?! like the file manager. . .
1h30min in thus far
for this weeks EOW challenge, theme is " in the dead of winter"
snow + storm effects will come in last, haven't even started colours yet. . . .
last nights sketch before work, speed painted tonite. . .
very faulty . . .
'With the little they had, the Monks in the Northern Fringes
hired a small troop of mercenaries to protect then from an unnameable enemy.
"I wondered off towards the outer perimeter on my own, the cold,
its in the dead of winter, who would attack these cloaks?" Constantly
freeing the blade from its leathery sheaf least it sticks, the rest seemed to be happily nested in the
crumbling western tower, drinking, hiding from the cold.
"After all who would invade a place like this?
It Seemed to have happened once before, what sort of religion is this anyways?"
The benevolence of the statues screamed to run in the opposite direction.'
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! You have made such great progress in yours. Your drawings and paintings seems to have this grittiness that draws me towards them, It kinda adds a bit more life. One thing that might help you push some of your stuff is to ask yourself how does the subject feel? and ask yourself if someone looking at the drawing can tell whats going on. Also very nice hatching on the last portrait, stared at that for a good while. Keep it up mate =)
Cool sketchbook man, and I agree -- you've made a ton of progress here. I really like your pencil sketches that you have (there are some pretty amazing studies), and you are certainly getting there with the painting too: the water creature (great idea btw) and the ice monastery ones on this page are great! keep it up!~
P.s. and thanks for your comment and all the 'thanks'
I like the variety in your sketchbook, especially the environments. My favorite is #515 (the EOW one).
I feel like the other environments feel somewhat busy (as in detail and color), I think it would really help if you worked in grayscale at the beginning (like 515) and then added color. Still great progress, keep it up!
Wingal: great tip! I'll try to keep that in mind, thank you.
Fess1001: Thank you! I'm glad you like the creature in the water
e-nat: Thank you, yeah im still trying to figure out balance with enviroments, i tend to brainstorm tons.
just scribbling before work . . .
midknight523: Thanks for visiting
just started deadline is today i think, i really hope i can finish,
topic is amulet of beauty, so i thought it would be great for assassinations . . . .
just gotta get that transformation right.
Great progress man, how do you keep up the energy levels? Look forward to see what you come up with in EOW200 (guessing you'll have a go?)
