Been a long time since I've shown my now ugly head around this space, anywho here's a start for me, I know its a little late but we'll see if I get it done.
And somewhere along the line, she came down with a serious case of dead.
Started out today cause it's such a great topic but I only have time during weekends ;( see if I make the deadline this time!
I imagined a slightly more fresh corpse so more gore than decay
Did some lineart and threw in some colors to let you know where i'm aiming at. I'm not sure about the proportions, let me know what I can do to improve it.
wip so far:
Sorry for crappy camera shot, it's all I have for right now. I'll be shading in digital, so the crappy look won't stay for long.
Side note as you can't see really well, teeth are exposed, and eye is missing. I decided that if I'm going to be undead, I'd rather be a Lich. Heh.
So I was thinking about me as a zombie. I would probably do something with my intestines like make celtic knots with them or something weird since I'm an art man. Then I thought of this. I walk me some dogs, so I thought hey, why not a zombie dog? Make the leash be my intestines and there you have it.
I'm considering going back to the drawing board... I realize I'm not really great at drawing a self-portrait... I'd like to at least have a smidgen of myself in this puppy... ah well...
I decided on just the head shot, I want to give all my attention to how I zombify my face. Its been fun so far! Cant wait to finish it, its weird but it reminds me of caricature
Going to do more Ideas before I decide on one.
I'm a zombie in hackney. The zombies don't stand a chance...
lol great topic!!! these are cracking me up, can't wait to see finals
Looking good, but for chow you have to show at least 3/4th of the full character, so only a portrait is not allowed. Maybe you can extend the canvas and paint the full figure in.
Well, I'm hoping that there's no problems with mine, as I did it in between doing errands and forgot to document my process. However, I have a sheet of my refs and a zombie study that I did to test my mediums. Done with watercolor, ink, prismacolor colored pencil and goache. I'll slap a frame on it for the final, maybe adjust the colors, but I'm pretty much done.
just a start. My first ChoW
@chance, that is wicked man!
@nightblue, really like the way u render the dog great work!
@myrko, the stroke style blends pretty good with the undead them maybe add up some dark background?
@thelema, its looking nice but i think u should give the stocking a darker color perhaps, because now it looks the same with the skin imo
here is my wip
I spent time rereading the OP- I decided it was probably better to omit the two skeletons from the initial draft of my ideas. Its is character design, so I should be able to communicate all elements of a character from this shot, right?
I'm finding quickly that I need much more practice with digital media to achieve the quality I want. It looks like I'll have to work with traditional media this round, despite the fact of having my heart set on digital media.
Feel free to critique on the piece as you see fit. I'm still troubled over the look of the arms... I can't seem to get them quite right. (I spent more time defining the zombi-ish parts. I was a little embarrassed that they didn't show well in the previous picture.)
skinny and floppy.
