So I'm an artist, and I struggle a lot with things like "what I want out of my art" or whatever.
I've been told a good bit about my strengths and weaknesses, but I'm always looking for more feedback on what I need to improve, and /how I might do it/, should anyone be so kind.
In any case, comments or crits would make me a happy camper.

For an art jam group.
About halfway through the exercise I stopped trying to
pull shapes from character features and just draw something
based around the shape on the whole.
I think I made some definite before/after progress.
I found they can be useful as much in composition as design,
and make for a more bold and dynamic image.
Tried to paint a picture and I was having some issues with it.
Here we have the work in progress and a resketch after some suggestions from friends, which, incidentally is a bit closer to the original image I had in mind.
And also some loosening-up sketches. For funsies.

Thank you Seage.
Most of my art is oriented around stories and whatnot, so it's really nice to know that shows through.
Wip of the repaint.
But I've been told by about three people I'd have to start over on it to get it looking decent, so I've opted to put it off for a while.

Your stuff is looking nice! I love the movement and originality in your characters! I think the painting with the wrapping scarf thing is awesome, and you shouldn't give up on it at all! The only things i would suggest are the angle of her right foot doesn't quite seem right, and you could afford to push the contrast in your tones a tad more, although i think you're improving in that already having said this your already 100 times better than me so amazing work keep it up and i'm looking forward to seeing more!
Jams, and some concept crap for a couple of stories.
Need to get into doing some serious studies on environments and objects.
Thanks for the encouragement, A-May. The piece just got picked apart well enough I figured I was wasting my time trying to push it through as a finished product. It's something I'd be better off starting over on when I can lay down a better foundation.
Great SB, tracking definitely!

I'm definitely working on the painting thing. I'll take advice just about anywhere I can get it.
Did some ref'd stuff here to try and work out a reaaally old character. Still not able to decide on his totally plot relevant angster scar. I'm not super happy with any of it, but it was fun giving him an actual...face shape and stuff.
I like the mechanical dude a lot better. But man I need to vary my poses more. T:l
