Sci-Fi spy. Chuggin' along from time to time.
Voodoo Witch Queen lady. About to lay some colors on her.
Added some color. Crits always welcome
Progress. Callin' it for the night.
lovely sketch book.. i love how smooth the faces are ... i love it
Thank you Rain Walker!
A little more progress. Was difficult working this today with the small one tugging on my leg LOL.
I'm calling it done!
Here it is adjusted and also the desaturated so that I could better see the values.
Preview of a painting I started tonight. I wonder how long I'll work on it before getting distracted and/or bored. haha!
hi thanks for stoppin by my SB your digi's are great! rly like your pencil work though nice and easy on the eye
Thanks hm2k! I appreciate you stopping by
Love your studies and pencil work
Thanks GEB! I always admire your work, especially the last Chow!
1 - Straight lines can suck it for all I care. Stupid straightness.
2 - If I never see this man's right arm ever again in my life, I will die a happy little artist.
3 - Chirp.
p.s. I love archery so effing much!
ETA: (used stock image from http://jademacalla.deviantart.com - GREAT stuff, it's hard to find good male reference images and stock)
Latest wip. This isn't the whole image. There is also a huge puffy dress and a background behind her. Oh, and the item she'll be holding by the time I'm done...
Oh definitely, my color work is still stupid haha! Luckily, this semester I'm in Color and Design so maybe I'll pick up some actual knowledge that will help my color stuff look, you know, not sucky!
Thanks for stopping by
Personally I think your color work is amazing, the only thing I see thats off are your edges and the accessories but small things are just automatic pains I suppose
One more bit of advice, try doing some more guys as well, Allot of times when you get too comfortable drawing one gender or age group it becomes really hard to figure out how to to the other.
Hope my small, tiny...sad puddle of insight offered some help X)
Haha of course it helped Thank you! More work to come on the accessories. I don't wanna paint guys! Women are prettier! LOL jk. I have a few studies and wips of men that I just never got around to posting... will have to remedy that.
Tokyo Snow (White) first draft. I haven't really done this "less realistic" style before...
Seems to be heading that way doesn't it? Definitely won't be "anime" by the time I'm done. I hope... LOL
ETA: Nothing wrong with anime, that's just not what I'm going for in this one LOL!
hey, i see that you're working hard ! you really should study more anatomy ! i think it's your weakest point ! Also about colors, i see that you're painting values quite well, but you don't think enough about color temperature ! Colors are warmer in light and colder in shadow ( it sounds quite obvious, but a lot of artists don't apply it, and it makes the paintings dull, lacking of life ! )
I see some highlights here and their that could be changed in your work but I can definitely tell when the light is warm or cool. I dont see the problem then again your on a whole other level than me so maybe its just more fitting to your skill. I wish I could paint worth a damn T_T
Thanks y'all! Anatomy studies are always good. I do them when I can, and try to at least daily. Working this one from imagination for a change, so we'll see haha!
Added some colors. I'm not thrilled with where it's going, but I'm not gonna give up just yet lol.
Hey there! some crits for this...
(might be best to start over if you're concerned with anatomy, but I will proceed anyway)
Shoulders too narrow, lifted arm is too straight on (try to do that in the mirror), and the arms are too short. Arm at side too straight, legs do not match up with hips and are spread a bit too far, no apparent hip depth.
Go for it! And, a reference would help!
