Hello everybody! I'm a CAD specialist who likes to draw in free time.
Just thought I should stop stare so much at all these great sketchbooks all day long and post also mine in here in hope to improve and keep up my motivation to draw.
I've been drawing on and off since I was kid, but never went to any art classes. Please, post any crits and comments that come in your mind!

Let's begin... (older -> newer)
Everything is drawn with a referene. Some refs I took from other people 's sketchbooks, I hope you don't mind, I can take those out, if you do mind.

Hey! Thanks, Fernandoart!
Not long time ago started to learn drawing digitally (again older -> newer)
It's like drawing with a pencil wearing cooking gloves

Hey! Nice SB man! Not much to say myself, you seem to be going on the right direction, keep up the studies and keep drawing!
Thanks for stopping by, raminafshari!
Some more from last and this week.
1) Apple from my garden - was so happy about it, that forgot the background
2) Nose study of old lady - so hard it took too long time
3) Unfinished portrait - realised that I need to study heads before I continue
4) Screenshot from "The Pianist", excelent movie. So wrong colours.
5) Spoon from life, had to hurry
6) Again movie screenshot, but messed up the face. I really need to study heads ASAP.

Great start. All this work in a two day old sketchbook!! If you can keep this up it'll be unreal.
My wifes, mothers family are from Latvia, just outside Riga. I don't know where exactly. Haha.
Thanks for visiting my sketchbook.
Hey vanaga, finally you show your SB. Nice work! But you need a bit of caring about space between two eyes.
Keep drawing .
... start to learn ...
Sveiks, jigje! Thanks for visiting. Sketchbook maybe is 2 days old, but the works in it is much much older. But I will try to draw as much as possible. Don't know Riga much, I'm from Ventspils. Riga is too busy city for me love the sea.
Hey Leogr! Really appreciate your suggestion, that's exactly what I needed. Couldn't understand what is wrong with my faces. So the eyes should be more far away from nose, right?
"Study eyes" definitely is next one on my 'to do' list.
So today more loomis heads. Why they are such a pain in the a*s
Hey, nice update! Keep the studies coming, Loomis does look simple, but can be such a pain...
Nice digital too, very nice eye, can't wait to see the other one!
fernandoart appreciate your visit and comment, thanks Loomis heads look so simple, but they are really hard. Have to study moarrr
Here is the 2nd eye of 2Pac, took much shorter time than the first, only 1h.
All my life for all works I have used the references. If I tried something from mind, it looked like poop, so I never did that. Until today. I decided to try some imagination stuff using everything I have learned. And actually it was fun. Learned a lot and understood what I still have to learn.
Also today found out about Crimson Daggers livestream videos. Damn, it's a pure gold.

... start to learn ...
Started to study Kevin Chen sketches. They are sooo superhelpful!
And immediately tried to apply the new skills on some heads from imagination or photos. Still need to practise.
Also tried to fix one of my previous movie stills, but probably would be easier to start from the beginning than fix it.

Hey. nice studies, I really like the last one, it's shaping up real nice!
And try to do more imagination stuff, you should remember the 2:1 ration yourself
great stuff go ahead
good luck for future

my sketch book
FACEBOOK rafid falah
fernandoart, thanks for comment. Yeah, usually this ratio is to limit imagination stuff and do more studies. But for me it's opposite, I hate to draw from imagination so much, because they are so wrong, like a childs drawing. But you are right I should do them more!
qlotzan, thanks I'll peek in your sb also
Wasn't drawing much during these days:
- loomis arm studies
- some poop from imagination
- tried the B&W study again, but failed mainly because don't know anything about back anatomy
Nice sketches man. I think I'm gonna drop by from time to time
you have a nice control with anatomy
keep it up

Cool to see MORE hard work.
I saw in your profile that you work in 3d printing and product design. Can you post some images of the things you do there?
diCharge, you're very welcome to drop by from time to time. You got great sketches yourself
qlotzan, thanks for stopping by, again
jigje, thanks! Specially for you here is some 3d parts we have created. Nothing fancy, just a poops from clients :
Did some kchen and loomis heads again. I can feel how knowledge settles in my head And as you can see, drawing woman is ridiculous
Tried posemaniacs for first time, 30 and 90 sec. Damn, they are so superhard
Also a quick life study of my dog.

try drawing more from real life,
your understanding of colour seems very primitive
try to balance warm tones with cool tones, (ex:// in skin, the colour gets deeper and redder towards shadows, shadows can be cool colours to make the subject pop, light bouncing around, etc)
vary the hues you use, not just sticking to monochromatic schemes
Really nice studies you've got here. Keep practicing the color studies.
I would suggest you take extra effort to get the proportions of the head right. You might have to start off with measuring it in the beginning, and might feel tedious. But soon it will be natural.
jAqJaQ, thanks for the great tips, especially about the colours, i'm really noob with those was thinkig to work on b&w studies to practise the values, I hope I'm doing right.
fenixx, thanks for the kind words. You are right about the proportions, I'm laying down them too lazy
Haven't updated for a long time, but was drawing every day, just too lazy to update.
- arm studies from loomis and bridgman, also applied the new knowledge on refs and imagination stuff
- tried a self portrait for 2nd time in life, i'm so shame about it, turned out very bad
- posemaniacs, 30 and 90 seconds
- another value study, tried out a new blending way, with opacity setting set to pen pressure. I regret that I didn't found out about it earlier, i'ts so much easier and faster to blend
Nice vanaga. You inspire me to do more studies. It looks like you know the way around an arm now, haha. Keep up the good work. Have you tried a self portrait in digital?
