I envy your ability to be so thorough in your master studies. It is sometimes annoying at the zoo with all of the kids there. It sounds like your life drawing sessions are really full, it must be a popular one. I'm liking the master studies, looks like your gaining a lot from them.
I really don't see the fascination with this type of manga style other than being cute. Nevertheless, the two above pictures both have form (the first one more so) and that's what you need to bring into your imaginative work from your still lives. Form doesn't have to be full on shading, but different line weight can make a flat shape feel filled out - the brain does those silly tricks on your eyes.
You do know you're going have to learn the structure of the head and body first to stylise it? Bring it into your life drawing for fun.
I guess growing up with anime stuff left a permanent imprint in my mind
@To sketchpot ppl
Sorry I haven't been leaving comments on your art, my mind's been in another place lately. My mom and I are in frenzy since we might lose our home AND be unable to pay rent (she's the only family I have) this week or next.
Also my laptops' screen and display chips fried recently soooooooo no photoshop and CA.org for me unless I borrow mom's computer (which I rarely can). Along with several other personal non-sense, family financial crisis-debt-transferring-inspections-car troubles-longer hours at walmart now
Random stuff from random times, studies, life drawings, on the bus doodles, copies idk
Hey Anthony! It's nice to hear that your okay, and don't worry if you cant post often, I think everybody can understand that. I see you've been working hard in your absence and I really like what your doing. I think you should try to apply more structure to your life drawings, maybe by using geometric shapes or forms to define the main masses of the body. Also, you could try to apply that reilly abstraction stuff to your figure drawings as well. Sorry I cant be of more help, and dont worry about the posting.
Sorry to hear about all your housing issues, I hope you and your mother can get everything worked out alright! Focus on whatever you need to right now.
I really like that you emphasized some of the planes on your figures, that really helps block out the shapes. At the same time, I'm gonna agree with KT and suggest that you work a bit more with shapes because some of the figures look more like line silhouettes rather than live figures.
At the same time, it's fun to see you mixing your anime and realistic drawing together.

Sorry about your problems. Just keep working on what you can when you, and post it up when you're able. We'll be here.
Your heads are getting better.
I hope things turn out for you and your Mum okay. Come back soon. That last SP is looking tons better.
I think you need to do harder master copies - not manga. The reason is because what you're copying is already honed down to the barest form.
Life is stable again, and I started my new college yesterday (ugh) and I'm still working my usual hours at Wal-mart (triple ugh)
Time to get back on that ball
@Everyone Avoiding silhouettes is hard when solely drawing with lines. X( I guess I should add more tone in life drawings?
@Blackspot Yea you're right, I guess I'll look to more painters to draw from. Though I mostly copy anime drawings to amuse myself when I'm short on time.
Here's random stuff sketches, studies, doodles, life drawings, etc
Wow, Anthony, I'm really sorry for not seeing your update earlier. It was just so quiet around here and everybody seemed like they were gone Your figure drawings seem to be coming along, it's good that your simplifying the outline but you might want to attempt finishing them a little bit more, something we all have trouble with I guess. I hope you'll update again soon, and by the way, what school are you attending? Edit: Also, if you didn't know, Theres a workshop coming up. I'm going to try and attend, I hope you will too.
Your life drawing is getting a lot more solid. Keep at it.
Sketches, mostly from life
Life Drawings, 1 and 2 point perspective studies, and other shtuffs
You're coming along rather well. I rather like the 30 minute drawing in your latest post.
Good to see your latest stuff. I'm guessing most of the figures are from life or reference? I rather like how you're approaching the form shadows for some of your figures; keeping it simple, getting the overall shape.
Mostly from imagination and some life drawing figures.
@Asatira thanks! Most of the figures are from life.
Hey AnthonyV, sorry I haven't been here in a while. You seem to be working very hard, which is good. I think that you could bring some of what you've been studying with perspective into to that drawing of the girl on the bed to make it more accurate and dynamic or interesting. I also see proportional problems in some of your drawings, but you'll get better at that in time.
Nice selection this update. I like how you used contour lines to help get the form of the limbs in some of the later poses. Very nice still life. The 20 minute portrait is rather nice as well. Something I noticed in the drawings from imagination: there's some stiffness and proportion issues, but I think they're getting better.
Thanks Asatira and KT, sorry I don't go on the site more... but now it's summer so I have no excuses! (except Wal-Mart sapping my time and energy >:/ )
I tested out photoshop's automated batch editor to grayscale/resize/level/compress I hope everything looks okayish (my laptop's graphic card and screen are both broken so idk what this will look like until I see CA.org on my tablet ugh). I pry CA.org gets the money to add a batch uploader... :C
Mostly life drawings, few photo sketches, photo gestures, and random stuff....

Got some (self?) portraits going on. Good to see. Some of your drawings from imagination are showing improvement; applied anatomy is getting better.
Here's some life drawings and muscle sketches from Loomis and imagination. I'm trying to memorize the placement of the muscles by memory like Loomis suggests.
I finally figured out how to make firefox batch upload all my sketches in one click w00t!
Here's some photo gestures and studies. The rest are anatomy sketches for imagination with quick corrections based on the Loomis book.
Here's various figure sketches from life and photos. The last few sketches and most of the planes and muscles ones are from imagination. I'm not sure how to get rid of all that lamp glare...

Here's some sketches from life, imagination, and Loomis.
Here's some various studies from the past month or two. I'm going to exclude some studies since I haven't posted to a long time (like pages of gestures, botched life drawings, quick photo studies, etc)
