Sorry to be a bother!
I just thought i would get back into drawing, sketching etc again.
Latley its just been photography.
I have always had troubles with placement of objects when it comes to drawing.
I am very much into the egyptian times. The Canvas i am working with is about 5ft long, so as tall as me , unfortunatly.
And the girl is very small compared to this canvas.
she is only going to be a sketch book sized.
What i am going for is just her sitting somewhere in a "cave/tomb" with walls covered in hyroglyphics. There will be more hyroglypics than girl.
Just dont know where to place her or how. I think I drew her completley wrong to start *sigh*
Should there be a little pool / bath or what? I was orginally going to place her to the far right corner.
I like to keep things simple.
P.s. - i was looking through everyones galleries.. WOW.
The photo is from my facebook ahah sorry!
p.s.s. this is only a project for my self, hopefully to put it up in my house if its good enough.
Do you have any rough sketches or anything you can show us about what you are going for in terms of environment? Even a very rough concept will give us a better ability to help you achieve your goals. It's one thing if you want the hieroglyphics to be the main focus of the piece, and another if you want it to be the figure and environment. I have a few ideas but need to know your general direction first.
I'm not expert in human anatomy, but I think there are some issues with her legs and the shoulder closest to us might be sticking out a bit too far. But for now a rough concept is good to get started!
I rather like her pose. The only parts of here I might tweak are the place where the nose connects to the forehead, the 'lump' at the top back of the head, and the curve of the near breast isn't clear enough.
Omg that is a huge canvas! o.O Good luck with that, you might be sick of it by the time you are done! ^_^;
For the girl's pose she can't really go in the middle, her back should be toward one side or the other. And she should either be kneeling on the floor (towards the bottom of the canvas) or on some sort of platform (towards the top of the canvas). Like Avv says, we need to know what else you want in the picture. Other people? Location? Any significant objects like a pyramid or statue or something?
Oh thank you so much for being nice about it! PHEWP!
i agree with you guys about the girl but like you stated the skectch will help to begin
I will start a quick sketch when i get home
I like the idea of her being on a platform! that helps me too.
I want her body to look relaxed. Im never very good with drawing humans.( Usually only good with advertisment)
- relaxed female.
- what i wanted before was just to show her bareback with a peice of clothing hanging off her shoulder. with her hips looking prominate? and her face looking over her shoulder
