RABIDTOOTH - the sketch meet Sundays are still going strong.
Me, Dwardo and Elisimo are attending life drawing classes on Mondays in the city.
I posted info a few pages back but a rehash - 6-8pm Mondays at Guildford Lane Gallery (google it). $20 a class and goes for 6 more weeks from today.
Come along if you want!
So this weekend is the million paws walk down at Albert park! Who's up for some sketchin of dogs and their owners?
The event starts at 10am Sunday and goes till around 2pm, so Ed can sleep in and still make it.
George and I will be walking zen and we'll meet y'all after to get some sketching in.
The place is pretty big, so if you take the 112 tram it'll drop you in middle park and you can walk across to main area from there.
Call me on 0408 409 909 to find us if you get lost!
The walk around the 5km track starts at 10.30, so I'm guessing george and I will be done by around 12-1pm?
But the sooner you arrive the more sketching you can do! Feel free to leave you mobile numbers for people to call you if you get there before us and you find a good place to sit and sketch the poochies.
Call me on 0408 409 909 around 12 and I'll let you all know where to meet up!

hahahah yeh i know man, totally slept in also take me like 40 mins to get there so if i wake up at 12 i end up there at 1 and i dont think you guys hang around there for that long, any yer my fault but i saved some cash lol for this week anyway.
totally promised myself to make this one though, but if your not going who else is gunna be there, dont exactly want to sketch by myself, so, anyone else going on sun? oh and has ed n stuff been showing up cause no ones updated any art besides you carl, and me cause im awesome.
You should be proud if you are sketching alone.... means you will get what the others don't because you are willing to do what the others aren't.
Bloocat rocked up last weekend and a couple of weeks before that.
Not sure where ed and elise are these days... but Ed I've been working through your harddrive. Good stuff in there! I'm taking my watercolours and gouache with me on my trip! fingers crossed.
See you all in a fortnight.
Are you and Gina both goin? Any chance I can grab the HD b4 you go. I can pick it up after work, or I can meet with in the Citay or some such. 7pm and after.
Esz was waiting for it, and I wanted to watch a few of them too.
Oh, and don't let me stop you putting your own shit in it too.
Something tells me you won't have trouble dealing with wc and gouache all in the same brush. You're good Knox, real good!
Don't forget to pack underwear and your Rambo knife. See you in a fortnight.
I think I will be heading to Canterbury this Sunday checking the Camberwell Rotary Art Show tomorrow: http://www.camberwellrotaryartshow.org.au/ if anyone wants to come let us know and we can meet up in the city beforehand. Entry is $15.
This is pretty off topic but I have to tell someone: there's a rumor going around that Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are going to be bundled together on blu ray for PS3. How sweet is that!? http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/05/...ction-q1-2011/
Yer i know they have been talking about it for ages, the ps3 ports i mean, finally i can finish sotc in hd! with no framerate drops!, but if its anything like the god of war 1 and 2 bundle aus will get a very late release date, still good though im gonna buy it.
lol dunno if im too lazy for sunday, id love to get some trad painting done though, but yer i might sleep in, elise you the only one got something planned for sunday, no sketchgroup thing then?
Sorry I didn't check here before we headed out! The art show was really good. Heaps of stuff to look at and some really nice examples of the difference mediums and techniques.
I'm definitely up for some life painting next weekend or something!
Oh also... I'm looking at a few art comps for motivation. I like them because you get real deadlines and that sense of participating (and maybe competing? ) with other people in the art community.
Here's a couple of lists I found:
A couple of nice ones coming up soon:

Entries Closing- Friday 23 July 2010- Rick Armor Drawing Prize: http://www.artgalleryballarat.com.au/

hey guys, I'm working this weekend so George and I won't be sketchin.
That doesn't mean sketchin isn't on though!!! get your butts out there in the cold and get yo sketchin on!
ed: I will be in the city though; at the exhibition centre if you want me to bring in your hard drive.
Mark, Ed and I are heading the to the amazing bodies exhibition at docklands tomorrow http://www.amazingbodies.com.au/index.html . We'll be at the GPO steps to pick up any sketchers at 12pm. Then we'll get some lunch and make out way there for some serious anatomy studies.
If anyone is interested in going, please grab your tickets online beforehand via https://tickets.moshtix.com/online/d...ResetSearch=1#
If you can't find us my mobile number is 0400 731 002
oh wow that amazing bodies event looks awesome! I'll have to check it out too sometime.
ed: i'm demoing for wacom again, but this time to the photography crowd, so no fun concepting this time, just boring photo retouching and cloning out kids that spoil good pictures.
I'll take your hd in case you show up! I've got 2 free tix if you want to give me a call and I'll run out and give them to ya.
