hulloooo. i've been a member for a while now, just lurking about looking at everyone's art =] and just decided to make my sketchbook. just things done when i should be paying attention in class or doing homework =]
the first two are studies with poses and the body. the third are some ideas for a senior animation project. the dino is a friend's character for an animation project in class, just felt like sketching him up in pshoppes. =] and then the last is a digital sketch of the guy from death cab, in an exaggerated animation style i guess.
just some quick ink sketches of animated characters for a children's cartoon for a class. no time for studies today, sad i know ;_; hopefully during my one day off this week though. i should like to render the little octofish out in photoshop by the end of this week too. we shall see i suppose..!
trying to figure out the Octofish character for class a bit more. and i need pshoppe practice =| lol i might try to finish it later. i did some sketches in pen, but they're on paper and i don't have a scanner atm! sorry for no academic artsy things ;}
really nice start to a sketchbook, I'm likin your style on the cartoon stuff and you've got some real talent as far as sketching.
At the moment I would suggest working on anatomy and proportions as well as trying some life drawing.

not much sketching done today.. shame since its a saturday D= but this is the bit that i did do. nothing constructive at all really, just scribbling on paper =] some come from photo refs, the others are random. especially tank girl now i must get ready for work tomorrow...! pld:

Really cute stuff! Your characters have so much personality, and you draw faces beautifully. JailHouseRock2 is right...there are some proportion issues, for one I think you tend to shorten up the torsos quite a bit, especially in relation to head-size. For some of the characters it's actually kinda cute that way, but still gives me that "somethings off" feeling.
thank you for stopping by sir..! and i will definitely keep proportions in mind. i have been noticing the head looking a bit large for the body these days.. gotta get out of that terrible habit =]
this is all i have for today sadly. been feeling a bit.. at a lost i suppose. i dunno what to draw... i really should start focusing on Senior projects I suppose... i threw in a camera photo of a painting i've been working on. i don't think i'll finish it before the years end =/
uggh another frustrating day in my cloudy little head =___= i don't really know what i'm doing art wise. hopefully i figure something out over break... hmmmm.... quite the conundrum... so just sketches, thinking about my proportion issues, after the figure is drawn lol i'll start doing that the other way around. then a painting from a sketch... i dont really know whats goin on with that lol
thanks for the comments kody and aphotic phoenix! i'll keep on working =]
sorry for the lag in updates. school is back in session so all i have is a sketch i started in photoshop and my 3D environment i had to do for 3D class (not the finished one unfortunately. i left that at school ><). not quite as exciting as sketches, but i'll keep working on it =]
hopefully i can scan some of my sketches from my drawing class soon.
updating for once ;__; school is a butt kicker and i don't have time for scanning things in. hopefully i'll do some of that tomorrow during my break between classes. for now! a little practice with photoshop. i've given up on the painterly thing for a min to work with color theory i guess. starting from simple before i move into the complicated stuff again =] ciao!
