Ok, I am new to concept art forum obviously, and I would like to improve on my art work. Currently I am fifteen and have not attended any art schools, but I do plan to. I want to make my work more defined and realistic, and get some work on environments as that is my main weakness that I know of right now.
These two pictures were unfortunately too large for the attachment:
Help in anyway please.
Post this in your signature if you believe people should not band wagon.
I see clearly what you want to do and specialise into, that's just a step in to the right direction! About your work, overall it's hard to read what belongs where and your colours and masses are blurry and too soft for mechanical designs.
Learning perspective as you wished is also very important for realistic mecha's, look at Seedling's Conceptart 101 for more information about this. And if you want to work realistic, then by all means drawing and painting from life is very important. Even if you want to draw stylished it's beneficial. Always.
Just a few choice words. Practice is the key, never stop drawing. Make those fingers bleed! Definition is also an element that would help your drawings. I like how you seem excited to draw Halo characters. I don't think we see enough of them on this site.
Your pieces generally have a nice idea but lack the definition to make it great, perhaps you should spend a bit more time in the planning phases to get what you desire from these images. But keep at it!
I would say choose one and repost that. Then we can sit down and work it. It is too much for us to go through each one of these, especially since there is a lot to talk about for each piece.
Just to get one right off the bat,
The underwater covenant shot (that is what I am assuming it is) doesn't really look like an elite. You might want to do some research online for images of the concept art so you know what they look like, and also some reference images of underwater environments.
I think that would help.
