Thanks for all the support and criticisms everyone Don't have time to reply but it all means a lot!
Went to New Zealand for 2 weeks to see my friend who moved there first time travelling alone and it was pretty incredible stuff
from life at the airport
self-portrait from a photo
the epic view from the place i was staying, line doesn't do it justice
SP to get off to a good start now I'm back
and the work I did on this before I left. After a two week break, I'm not very motivated about this and will probably start something new
it shows your unmotivatedness in the last piece, though i love the lighting
new zealand sounds like fun, did you have a good time? the view looks stunning O_O you should have got your laptop out to do some digital painting of it D:
that digital self portrait is way to good man ;__; the colours are vunderbar and the brushstrokes are delicious brah
keep at itt
PieMonster: Cheers man, love your work by the way
teh.meh: Yeah its just kinda of hard since I'm with him a lot of the time lol cheers
Benjie: Thanks man
r y a n o i r: Maybe if i could afford a laptop yeah O__O thanks brew
Twan: Thanks, trying to work on my colours a lot more now, they suck
Some bridgeman feet
Photo studies, cool diffuse light is so sick!
Went through your SB, your improvement has been astounding...keep up the amazing work!
Loved that last update sam. Great work, the bridgeman feet are looking really good, bridgeman always helps when it comes to understanding things.
The pencil studies of the girls are looking really great too, a lot of improvement in line and rendering. My only advice would be to control your rendering strokes so that they follow the form and lay off the shadows until the very end. Really just render out the image in mid-tones and then at the end tweak and adjust with shadows. This is what I've been doing recently and I find that building it up just helps so much more.
Lastly the last female study has to be my favourite. Great lighting and very nice brush strokes from you.
Keep it up and looking forward to more, especially some imagination works
The rendering is improving already, really nice studies, also I am really enjoying the mind sketches but boy does that last piece win hands down! Really brilliant work on that, nice jump in skill level. I guess it's always fun to draw the things you enjoy haha naked girls for sam
Good stuff as always
Wow just looking at the first page compared to the last page I can really see an improvement. Your crosshatching technique is coming along nicely. The figure drawings are getting beasty
Love the linesssssss

Oh samwise the great. Dude i fricking love that last piece. That is such an incredible imporvement. Neat blending great skin tone etc. Too bad you didn't bring everything to a finish and still left the hand so sketchy. Face looks hawt. I love them studies as well. Doing goooood.
Colors really seem to be your strong point dude. Great fuckin work.
lilnebo: gotta love some naked girlies cheers
Cocoa_Cool: Thanks a lot man
jordyskateboardy: Mmm gonna study hands more, I keep being hacky and leaving them O.O thanks buddy
Bombur: Haha my colours are dirt :| gotta study more, cheers anyway
Oh yeah, I got a deviantart thing, figure I may as well spread my work around a bit more. Links in the signature
Some studies of the lovely Miles_
Some photo shit, all fairly out of proportion :I
a colour study, really didn't pay enough attention to the photo and lost it quite a lot
and a close up preview of my current WIP
hello there, latest digitals are moving better with values, i feel some shapes are little wobbly (lots of search lines), like with those chick studies. It is the hardest thing in the world get shapes better but you could try to nail shape of certain form (outline of the hand) with one/or two lines. Good thing to practice this is to make only straight lines and simplify forms, take your time to get it right. It will feel pointless and too hard but once you practice this enough, when you go back to drawing from life/imagination you will notice the difference it has made, it is not subtle.
Anyway keep up the job, waiting for next one

Hey there! Really nice stuff. I really adore you studies and sketches. You're awesome for a 16 year old, awesome for any age, really. Keep up the good work and keep on rockin'!
Nettle_Mountain: Hi, I'm sure just drawing lots of figures will help me improve how I want to, I'm not look for some special technique to help me improve, thankyou anyways
So me and miles just had jordy round for 10 days, was pretty awesome and we got quite a bit of work done
On top of this I've also gotten some paid commission work but I'm not sure if I'm allowed/even want to show it here
Some mind stuff
some life studies
we took turns doing 10 minute portraits of each other, so excuse the shittyness
and some sketches my friends got me to do, by showing me their idea through little models, very entertaining
some photo studies from pictures i've taken
My latest finished piece
and a quick portrait I'm working on at the moment
you have a nice sense of value and color, it shows through beautifully in your paintings I like your marks, your pencils are fun too! And your anatomy is also, very sophisticated. I would love to see more stuff from your imagination !!!
Man, your rendering and pencils are improving fast. There are some issues with the latest finished piece though. The proportions seem weird. Her legs are too short looking (torso may be a bit long too, which doesn't help with how long the legs appear). Her arm holding the sword is a bit short (not helped by the elongated torso) and twisted way more than it would be in that position (fix the elbow position). Also look at the humerus to forearm lengths. The lighting situation is a bit inconsistent. The light appears to be a nice soft cool one, but then there are a few really harsh cast shadows on her face and leg that don't fit in with the rest of the lighting. Lastly, the face lacks a bit of "life" to it. Maybe adding in some of the more of the pink hues you have in the elbow and knees would help a bit.
