I'll be sure to update this frequently! However if I don't you can always catch me on LJ.

Critique the hell out of this.

The gerbil piece was done earlier this year. The rest on the first on is in chronological order.

This one was done about two weeks ago. I'm really into the new FFT so I just had to draw one. I know none of them draw glasses - but what the hey! He'll be the unique one.

More goats and a doodle of my friend, Kim (yup - he's a he). And then some random wolf in sheep's clothing. Eh? Ehh? Yea... that's still under works.

Some doodles I did with out reference about a month back or so. Each one took about 3min or so. Some of them are bad I know - so more detailed doodles shall be done! Seriously.

Tiger Lizard

This creature was made for a challenge here on CA. This was on an older forum somewhere, but like I said - I lost he password to that account. Anyways, here is the progress and development of this animal. I've been trying to make it more lizard like than mammalian, but that will be a work in progress.

Abe

This is one of the models from last quarters' Life Drawing 101 class. I wish I could take more life study courses but I'm saving my electives for animation courses.

If you want to see some of my older life studies go to my older thread.

Random Sketches and things -

Was bored out of my mind, so here are some sketches! Two of them are older and one of them, I'm sure, is pasted in my older forum.

Anyways, superjail studies... randomly done at 4am on 30min of sleep, really quick. I always enjoy the idea o drawing people with anatomy that's either beyond perfect or just... average. So here is my take on Jared and Warden. I know the mistakes so yea... blegh.

Some feeties! I love drawing realistic feet, used to hate them but I love 'em now. These were from an anatomy book and these were sketched for my life drawing class two quarters ago.

Mission Hill / Life Study

Quick speedpaints. One is from Mission Hill obviously and the other is of my friend Parker.

His upper lip is a little too big for him, but that's ok, just a quick doodle. I'll try and get the anatomy all the way spot on in my next study o him.

Just another quick sketch of my friend Ryoko. I have a pretty cool idea for this one so the sketch will be inserted in a more vertical canvas to execute it.

Other than that. Not much... need to do more speed paints and background or anatomical studies.... blegh

Btw, do you know of any place where I might find some CorelPainter X tutorials?

Bix Character Development / Fanart

Bix, a character I made up while tutoring at a children's school because my school's work study demanded it.... The drawing was very simple, but it was good enough to inspire me! His anatomy is a mix between a Rhino and a Fox. Still working out the kinks and what not. I need some tutorials on Corel Painter as well as become faster at building up my layers and what not.

Random doodle of Aang contorting his face. I like drawing expressions that cause wrinkles in the face. Quick sketch so a lot of anatomical mishaps, but I will sharpen it up later perhaps for a quick speed paint and all that goodness.

Bix Update

Just an update on the character I was working on. Didn't do much to it just improved the lighting in certain areas, although I'm sure there's more I could fix along the way.

Another progress on my character Bix. Please critique the lighting as I’m sure there are some things off wit the structure of the face, looks a little too flat to me, but I’m not sure. So any input is welcome! Heh... this was quickly sketched in my sketchbook so as you can tell from the inks, a lot of anatomical inaccuracies, the colored one's been fixed but his back and front view still need to be properly aligned and what not. Added in some scaly hard-skinned areas where his fur isn’t the prominent feature. I don’t want him to look like a 50% fox/rhino combo, but more so just show the influence of those two animals combined in a whimsical way.

As for his tail, I’m going to make it a little more poofy, right now it looks to heavy… something I wanted at first but have not decided against it for logical reasons I guess. It will be composed of mostly coarser hair like the kind for his ear tufts and back

Also! I’ll be uploading some progress concepts for a childrens' book I’ve been hired to illustrate for sometime this weekend hopefully. Any helpful hints and critiques on characters designs are more than welcome! I encourage any and all who can give me some good direction.

Goat speedpaint from a google search. Mission Hill cast in my style. Superjail characters in my style. Trying to get the hang of them in my semi-realism form, burnt guy is also from Superjail (needs to study more burn victims), I nickname him "FireFace" since he manipulates fire by thought.

The last two are quick anatomical studies. The left sketch in the first one is based off a pose from NorthernBanshee over at DA. Issues will be fixed in the speed paint versions.

Children's Book: Character Concepts

I've been hired by a local author and song writer to do illustrations for a children's book. So here is my first post! For some reason the other files aren't willing to work, maybe they're corrupted or something, I do need to reformat my external jumpdrive...

This guy right here is names "Oliver" since he has no real name in the book. But he's still in the works. I know I do want him to look scraggly when it comes to teeth and hair, but his design is far from finalized. I was recently watching 1971's WillyWonka and realized he has a visual likeness to Charlie Bucket, which wasn't intended since this was done before watching the film, but I think it's a good thing in some ways since a lot of people I talk to seem to adore his character in that film.

Dude, what's going on, this stuff is great! Your pencils and anatomy look really solid, a lot better than mine anyways. Colors are great too! You might want to do some digital studies from life, like, put some objects on your desk and paint them, maybe do some studies of old master paintings as well! That should help with the colors and lighting

Thanks so so much for stopping by! And ok! I'll be sure to do that on my break, sounds like a good idea... I need some texture and lighting variety other than skin tones and what not.

I'm actually doing some digital paintings older artists from various periods for my Art History finale project, so it's ironic that you'd mention it! Haha...

Jailbot Bookmark I dedicated to a friend. I'm doing the entire cast and then some, so it might take a while.

The file is super huge, so it took forever to save in between breaks. I need to his flaps because he has more weight at the bottom of his body, and it's more at the top, which it shouldn't be. :c Alas! I'll correct this over break. Just wanted to show this image.

How does Arsanik (aka k0r2n3h) take a break from drawing? By drawing, seriously - it's what I do.

Update on Bix. Gave him some highlights on his shoulder and made his tail more poofy. Still under works though.

Other crude quick doodle is of my oooold character Seth. He was invented back when I was into emo/goth culture (aka 8th grade) and his design was somewhat similar to this, I just made him look cooler I think. I normally don't use bright annoying color schemes... especially the color PINK. But since he's a raver I knew I could have some with the lighting if he were neon. Despite his gruff look, he's very optimistic and open to everyone he encounters.

Nice anatomy. Interesting to take something then input the skeleton inside the image.

Self Portraits, Character Concepts, and Naruto

Tons of sketches coming your way while I'm on break! Finally... some more realism studies. This time all of them are of me. I normally hate drawing myself...

Gift for my friend, a Naruto bookmark. Don't critique his face since I'm fixing it right now. However anything else is open for critical analysis!

Bust paint of my character, Tim. I know his neck's too long here, will be fixed when I start on his jacket.

Two keychain sketches, don't like the second one (lotsa things wrong with the face), but the first one I do - I think it adds a lot more personality to the character. Any critiques and what not are always welcome.

And a random doodle of a fox. I'm tired of seeing pretty sparkly animals on art communities, so I decided to add some reality to the depiction of the fox.

I like your chunky/blockly lines, it beefs up your sketches. Sometimes you get a little too stiff and blocky though, something to watch out for.

Deer Studies

For a children's book I've been commissioned to do, there are a lot of images with deer in them. FFFFFuck I can't draw deer all to well, but I did some quick anatomical studies today and then applied them to my own poses to see if I've learned anything in the process.

The last deer is stylized for the kids book. I'll be doing a speed paint on it shortly.

Those dear are the epitome of awesomeness. Just so ya know. I'm really loving those simplified skeletons. (I think they were only as guides, but they look beautifuly stylized.)
And that last deer. Is making me green with envy.
