Twan->Thanks man! I will! Gotta keep movin!
If you haven't read this post by Dave Rapoza, you should. Right now. It's an absolute truth that everyone of us has to struggle with at some point. I know I did over the weekend.
Wasn't too productive this weekend. .
Here's a bit of it though.
I've got to dig up every weakness that I can find in myself that I've been avoiding and draw the shit out of it.
Long time no see!
Been working my figures out with silhouette.
It's been going ok but I have good news and bad news.
The bad news is that I have absolutely no idea how to draw the figure anymore or use pastels for that matter.
The good news is I got better. Not great yet, but muuuch better than before.
And now that I have my hands on a copy of The Human Machine that doesn't belong to someone else, I can dig into Bridgman's stuff a bit more.
C&C always appreciated.
I'm liking the pastel work, very vibrant, keep pushing on with the bridgman studies too!
Exon needs your critique!
Jansi->Thanks! Hah true, true. I come from overdoing detail so these quick timed studies are the hardest damn things to do.
Exon-Ion->Thanks! Bridgeman is my breakfast most days.
Ok. Quicker studies now. 5, 10 and 15 minute studies here. Seeing some small improvement even if it's mostly due to weather or not I'm using the rough side of the paper or the smooth side. . .
Sorry about the image overload--I'm still trying to see in silhouette.
P.S. Sorry about the shitty scans too.
Hey dudes and dudettes. Here's what's shakin.
I pissed at getting my ass kicked by everyone on earth but at right now I'm pinned down with school. I have about 5 paintings, 2 prints and 2 drawings to do my the first week of December. So, until mid December, I probably won't have too much presence here. Which is kind of how it's been since October. .
I think the point here is school takes up way too much time for me to actually improve sometimes.
But anyways, here's a still life I did a bit ago in ink.
Thanks for looking.
In the mean time, I'll have some updates of finished work on my website
Pregaming for the holidays with a little Bougeureau studying. Getting better at four color palettes and grisaille! I still need to work on getting the far side of the woman's face to roll back into space. It's a little flat =O
After the holidays I will be updating consistently! Hooray!
Comments and crits always welcome!
Until then, happy holidays everyone!
Nice sketchbook so far,
keep making those studies and sketches i think that you should keep concentrating on making the anatomy sketches and studies because now your painting skills are a bit better than your drawing skills.
Anyways keep up with the great work you're on the right path.
Some updates here from today and yesterday. I'm still having problems figuring out the right side of the onion. No matter what I've done, it always goes flat and gets confusing as to which part of the onion is closer or above in space.
Anyways, I have some more color studies in the works.
Comments and crits always appreciated!
Thanks for looking!
Here's some work from this week. Mostly studies and a start on the CHOW this week-> Rangda.
I may have stretched the interpretation a bit (seeing what some other people are doing) but it works out in my head which is exactly what's important all the time, right? Anyways, here goes.
Comments and crits always appreciated!
really like this painting.

I've been working on some digital sculpting lately which is omg tons of fun awesomesauce
There are some problems that I really want to fix but can't do much about until I figure out how to manipulate the program tools to allow me. . .
These are my first two sculpts
Still working on my usual studies and things like that.
Any C&C would be appreciated!
Lots of work here, very impressed with how you tackle so many mediums; pencils, digital, 3D, you're doing it all Your values are improving from what I can see - your last image with the 3 figures looks on point. What program are you using for the 3D on your latest if I may ask?
