The Fight of your life

The fiction behind this image is that automotive companies are competing to supply the superrich with luxury defence systems, in a future where the divide between rich and poor has increased dramatically.

The design and presentation is intended to reflect a typical automotive glossy magazine advertisement.

Also, while I wanted the character to contain mechanical detail, I wanted to make sure the character was easy to read so that it could work in a film or game environment.

The image was painted entirely in Photoshop at 6000x5000

No 3d was used.

Excellent job, Andrew. It's clear you had a lot of patience to render this out so well. Looks like a robotic Lexus ad.

I GUESS loos too similar to transformers look. i´m not big fan of that kind of stuff.

i love the legs shape, da silute is easy to read, and i guess the only part that i don´t like is the gun, is just too small (for a robot).

but the rest is just soo cool

About the only thing missing is a prominently displayed logo on the robot itself. No self respecting automobile maker would make you guess at who created the robot. Other than that, very slick.

I totally agree with that also, pop that logo on the right on one of those chest plates. The detail is awesome.......6000x5000 you say, I learn something new every time I come here

saw this one on CGtalk frontpage, congrats ^^ anyway, really nice, love it, and the text that goes with it is great too^^
but YES, the robot is CRAVING a logo! xD

also i think its a little bit low on contrast, its a robot afterall, even if the material is dull i think u could bump it up a littel bit.

Very cool, love it!

I like how you can add detail without making it too predictable. There's still freshness to it.

I believe Citroen just asked you to turn THEIR cars into Transformers too. That's one hell of a robot you've drawn there; I'd love to see some more like this, in different colour schemes (not that there's any colour scheme better than the dark steel and red you've got going on there - like a 3d model, but better).

Amazing design, and amazing rendering skills to match, you have got the whole package. where is the company's logo though?

also, there are some scratches on the silver section of his leg and a bit where the paint came off. there is absolutely no way a company would take a photo of their product in that state, and i think that defeats your backstory a bit.

so with a logo, and no scratches, you will have a seriously plausable advertisement.
