OmertA: Thank you! You he ave no idea how many times I've told myself that I should study Bridgeman =P Of course you are right, thanks for your critizism!
I tried to colour the Goatfish in Photoshop, this is the result. Also, I see I should get a scanner as soon as possible.
Quick update! Behold, Aslan of Narnia.
Aslan! ha but the colors ooo, very nice.
Hi Remmy! *waves* Thankies!
So here's a new one for you; Alice in Wonderland.
1st pic: Pencil sketch
2nd pic: PS sketch
3rd pic: Paintover by Lotet
4rd pic: Final result
I'm very happy with this one. I think I get restless in the beginning of a painting, so if it's not a good base painting I wont take the time to finish it properly because it's shit anyways =P I have to stop thinking like that, seriously, I will never get good at painting that way. Thanks to Lotet for your advise, aaaaand, enjoy!
ah that looks hot! Maybe i should get Lotet to paint over one of mine ha ha.
Remmy: Thanks! Lotet is a good mentor ^^
New one, trying out another tecnique. Starting to think I should give up on the digital stuff and go for the traditional... It's so much easier, lol But of course I won't do that ^^
Behold the fractal cat!
ha, very nice, inks and water colours? but yes traditional is very fun, however you need to develop digital skills for the consumer environment! ha ha. But you should always have balance between the 2 otherwise you get burnt out.
Remmy: Yeah, I suppose you're right. This new picture made me feel more confident about the digitals as well though, yay happy day! And you're right, the fractal cat is inks and water colours.
So, I want to get into a school for videogame developement. The last application date is in May, but I figured I should start working with the portfolio already.
Here's my idea: I'm doing a video game concept, but will only do the concept art for it. The game is, very shortly, about a young girl with nightmares. As her big sister, the player sets out into the nightmare world, and is aiming to destroy the nightmares forever. Yeah I know, funny concept, but I only use it so that I know which pictures I should draw etc
Anyways, here's the first character concept painting - The Big Sister. Comments and crits on this one are very welcome! I'm not finished yet, and I suspect there are tweakings to be done here and there on the picture. I'll probably post it in the critique section as well. So, give it your worst! I want this to be good
..And here's the Little Sister for the game. Crits are much welcome!
Aaaaaaaaaaand the obligatory monster under the bed :3
Comments and crits much welcome. Gonna color it eventually too.
EDIT: Fuck, I see now that the proportions are waaaaaaaaaaaaay off, especially on the hands. Oh well, it's a WIP, so I have time to make it right
Hello! Great sketchbook! Very creative creatures here and I like the designs of your characters. For the last piece you just posted, I would really push the contrast a bit more. Especially on the woman. I really like your use of color on the lion piece, haha. Great stuff! Keep it up!
Arsea: Wow, thanks! yeah, I want the woman to be almost radiating light so high contrast would be pretty effectful.
Did some touch-ups on the proportions, the angle of the face etc. Still WIP!
Quick update: Pikachu and Raichu. Spent a lot more time on Raichu for some reason
woweee that snake pic is loking great, you've learnt alot indeed. Also the pikatu and ritu are cute nicly done. mmm with the girl in the snake pic, i noes your probably not up to it yet but just shape her body out, give clearer humps and bumbs if you catch ma drift. XD
Time for a....
(about time, right? )
I'd recommend studying basic forms and gesture for your figures ^^
andres333: thanks, yeah I know youre probably right
Silwynar: Hahah aww, thanks yup, as soon as I'm done with this uni biology stuff I will start working seriously with improving my skills..
Ramalooke: Thanks man Anatomy and figures next, then. I find it difficult not to focus on the wrong stuff when doing that kind of drawings, because I usually get stuck on the rendering part... which is not quite the point
Update on the dragon!
Thanks! Imma work on it a lil bit more digitally, so I'll look over that!
Quick update - a study off a portrait. Unfortunately I dont know the artist behind the original painting Time: abt 2 hours.
Those trees are awesome, I can't draw trees for crap lol. Great work on that portrait. I would recommend you keep doing studies like that, then you can render your dragon. I really like the style that is maintained in your fantasy work. Reminds me a little of How to train your dragon, which incidentally I just watched last night .
Remmy: Thanks man I think I finally got into the flow, or whatever you english speakers call it. Studying and studying and studying seems to do the trick!
Sooooooooooooo... Here are some studies! Studies of photos, some Bridgeman, posemaniacs and I also did studies of Algen's studies. Studyception!!! Hehe. Enjoy
Note to self: Work on lines. And study more.
Today's studies (in fineliner to work on my lines) plus a portrait study from last week. Enjoy!
Two really quick photoshop sketches, semi-referenced.
i really like your tree and dragon sketches (: and that deer photostudy looks really good too. i would say work a bit more on your figures. but you have a wide range of stuff, a little of everything, i like that (: keep it up!

sketchbook. comments/advice appreciated (:
So I'm actually meaning to paint a picture as a gift to my dad for christmas, and I have NO clue what to paint.. Therefore I'm kinda making these really quick sketches in photoshop just to make up what I want to paint. It's difficult, and also that's the reason why I'm trying with a little more "artsy" and stylised paintings instead of painting them in my ordinary style. Experimenting away
If you have any suggestions on what I could paint him, it would be much appreciated (cause I have NO CLUE)
An update on the christmas painting. It's done with watercolours, semi-referenced.
I kinda like it, but I'm not sure that a zombie deer with butterflies is the ideal christmas gift... Help plox?
