well ive been browsing through enough decent sketchbooks on here i thought it was finaly time to stick some of my stuff up, its not quite up to the standards of most on here but hay, we all got to start somewhere i spose.
first off a few random pencil drawings done a while ago, i will post some more recent ones when ive sorted a decent scanner out.. .. and crit away to your hearts content..
First post here, and I'm a total newb when it comes to drawing, but I really like how strong and precise your lines are in the first drawing. And good job with the flower drawing, those are always tough for me. Good stuff.

what are we supposed to say about a light switch, or headphone jack..?
the birds are quite awkward and so are the petals , maybe you should spend a few more minutes on these..
Trebster: nice one cheers mate. the jackplug cable was lacking something so the trusty 0.1 pen just helped it along abit.
cocaine: well cheers for the comment any way, but it was just a quick sketch i thought i would post.
the first woman is the first time doing a proper digi in painter, i know some of the perspective is abit off but any hints would be great. the next was just a quick doodle while waitin for the grand prix to start.
lol no im not studying anything at the moment and ive never done any art class of any sort, ive always drawn though no where near as much as i should, but my mums an artist she was an illustrator for years so i guess arts always been an influence in my life growing up round it an all.
well i work in a secondary school so im abit nervous about taking my pride and joy (sketchbook) into a building full of raving loons that seem to be put on the planet to destroy stuff. (which also might make a very interesting sketch lol) but i will try my best to get to a scanner, its irritating cos my pencil work is my favrout medium. cheers for the comment though, much appreciated.
found a few more pics layin around on my comp that i can put up for the moment while im sorting a scanner out there just some photos of my sketchbook taken not that long ago. soz bout the quality like.
the first was just a very random squigal, 2nd self well speaks for itself, 3rd speaker totempole (wouldnt mind doing a pain of this.)
sorry bout the size of the totempole heres a resize.
heres another rly quick paint, did it after watching the formula 1 on sunday, its no where near finished but i will get round to it at some point soon.
well w few more posts.. including claud the french squid chief, some dude falling, a fuzzy TV, part of a boxer lol, a stag beatle, and a walking toaster.
bhahhah.. claud kicks ass :] the boxer`s arm is kinda flabby though, you should look at alot of refference.
i think you should stick to sketching and try painting, leave the computer out of it for a while.
but after all there`s no harm in experimenting
lol cheers. i know what you mean it was done off the top of my head so some reference would probably be a gd idea, i need to do aload of anatomy studies. i also want to try some different mediums like do some proper painting but cash is extremely tight at the mo so ive not been able to get hold of any materials. but i will try my best. cheers for the advice though its always appreciated.
well heres a few more, i know ive posted alot today but ive been making gd use of a scanner that ive tempereraly impounded at work lol.
right firstly chaos my mate tom drew a rly abstract messy kinda drawing and he asked if i would do a copy so here is mine. secondly these are just a few random concepts, and finaly a sketchy woman.
Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. It looks like you've got some neat stuff here, I like how clean everything is; you have very crisp, well defined lines
cheers meeps, i seem to always end up working quite finely but that also quite easily leads to things looking rly over worked. cheers for the comment

well thank you to you all for the comments, lets hope they keep coming.
few more pici's firstly pyramid head, from silent hill. and i was bored at my mates so i drew his super nintendo i know the line on the far right dips abit but thats easily sorted. and finaly super fun happy juice. not finished though i want to do some more with it.
Regarding Gesture Drawing:
Now I know that most of your drawing as it appears here is out of your head. So what I am suggesting is that you don't just jump in with what I would call a final contour line drawing. Lightly sketch your idea first, defining where all of the depth and volume will come from, giving you a platform to create a very finished and refined look in the end. I have attached an example of how I work out a pose with an initial gesture. The same could apply to any drawing of any object or idea.
Looking at your most recent posting, I really like your sketch of the "Super Happy Fun Juice".
Thanks for asking for clarification. I hope this helps.

^^^^^^^^^some dam gd advice there mate ^^^^^^^^^^^^
Actually, check out these links for the same purpose:
I saw someone post them to another fellow on here who needed a bit of a rundown of good illustration techniques.
Well it has been a very long time since i have been on here!!!! let alone added anything. The past year or so has been mental to say the least resulting in not much drawing what so ever! but i am now back in the routine and hoping to make it my primary goal. so for the first time in a very long time heres an update .........
sorry just realised how big these are lol ill sort that out!
lets try that again...
As some people already said: start to do gesture drawing. Many artists combine them with using posemaniacs.com. Really, that can help you a lot to get feeling for drawing bodies and even dynamic poses. What you need are good basics.
And maybe you can work on your linework. Try to be confident about your lines. Try to draw quick lines with the movement of your arms. Use ballpens to doodle. In beginning it is hard to draw without the possibility to erase, but new ways will come out of it and your pencilwork will improve too
thanks alot for the advise ive been trying out gestures while at work and just scribbling and i have found out i am terrible at quick sketching lol, im doing it as much as i at the moment in hope of improving. ill try and get some scanned in and see if anyone can give me any pointers.
Lookin' good! LOL at Claud.
