kewl - kjeep it up and keep using reference!
The Monsters Handbook
Pirate Arrrt!: Learn to Draw Fantastic Pirates, Treasure Chests, Ships, Sea Monsters and More [Paperback]
You have some nice doodles here
Why dont you practice drawing from reference? I can assure you that your skills will be drastically increased. You should try to learn at least some basic anatomy as well.
And the thing that will help you the most: Draw you butt off! At the end of the day, practice is the thing that will help you improve.
you know a lot of people have been saying that i should practice more...
i think i am....
so when you talk about drawing from reference you mean book right???
well i don't own to many but i think i will see what i can come by....
i really want to improve my art...like my style and the like...
but thanks anyway.
ummm here is something i just finished you may have noticed that it is the painting of one of my sketches above...i just got this new program and i was testing the brushes. NOTE: NO its not PHOTOSHOP and NO its not COREL i can't afford those yet.
Cool stuff bro and so this is my opinion on it, if you want to improve at manga then you need to do some life studies, or some referenced stuff from life or anatomy books, when we say draw from books we dont mean more stuff from the manga book but rather anatomy studies and stuff like that, if your interest is in manga and you dont want to branch out and try other styles then you will not improve very quickly does that make sense?
yea jedininja i get it...
i was thinking that at first...
and i don't really want to pursue anime as priority its just been the topic of my latest drawings....
oh and i'm fixing my siggy WOOT!!!
thanks for the insight though.
got another one for you...this one was relatively fast...30-45 mins...I'm still getting to know my program so I'm just playing around with the different brushes...this one is oil pastel....smudged variation towards the end to get that look...ya know...
here it is...
Another quick sketch from NewType
Here's a piece thats more cultural to me...
Anybody know shiloh??? the dawgie??? dis be him FOOOLZZZ
and here's VENOM da most GANGSTERR villain known to man!!! like fa realies!!! (well not it you count punisher as a villain...cuz he's jus DON status or sum lyk dat....*clears throat* wow that was off topic...)

Heres the beginning of my human anatomy study...
starting off with basic stick figures...
it's good that your starting to think about anatomy, but i think you should invest in a book or search for the Andrew Loomis book 'figurative drawing for all it's worth'
good start but you need to keep pushing.
You need to do lots of anatomy studies.Try to draw not just manga style, not just naruto style.Draw from your imagination, exercise your imagination, man!!!You will find things better than naruto and other anime stereotypes inside your mind.
im taking you guys advice here is some quick work from that Loomis book.[in pen btw]
okay i know the female is WAAAAYYY worse and ugly but its a start...right??
okay this is it for tonight...
htis took me a while even though it doesn't look like it. basically some male sketches. Trying to put a little motion into it.

NEW SKETCHES FOOLZZZZ!!!!
Here's my 2nd character for Koeifan's Art Battle Royale.
Here is a 5-10 minute sketch out of NewType Mag.
Looks good to me. What you think??
JIN!!! Samurai Champloo ROolEz soO HarDD.
please comment. i need your help no matter who you are.
I think you should free from the shackles of manga/anime and try to develop your own style, but ofc it will be inpired alot by your favorite one. And I see you began doing that by doing more figure drawings, like those from Loomis books and absolutely stick to it!
You are on the right track. Just do as much life studies or photo referances that should help u get better grasp of anatomy, proportions , movement and shading.
Sry I can help more. Just keep updating and untill next time!
alright heres something that took me between 15-20 minutes...i mean really fast. Koeifan believes it my best drawing but i have no favorites.
here's another one. MAN this subject seems to just flow with me. I love drawing something that i enjoy or plan to enjoy some more.
