Here's a cartoon strip I've been working on. I just needs colouring now.
I've done a few strips for them before and that's been fine [no payment though, although I expect really with comics nowadays].
I've tried contacting the comic about this one but they seem unreachable. Just hope they haven't gone bust, although it wouldn't surprise me.
mate very interesting works in your sketchbook. You traditionals are very good.
Keep up working and thnx for stopping by my sketchbook
hey porg, i know what u mean, sometimes it feels like a drought lol
nice SB sofar. ur sketches are detailed but silly, which is refreshin, it reminds me of an artist from mad magazine that drew really detailed quirky stuff.. im bad with names. neway GJ keep it up dude
Loving your filled SB pages and the illustrations with masses of faces and figures. Also totally smiling at your paintings on boards and wall surfaces. So great. It looks like you just take from everything around you and work it into the mix. You must be having so much fun. Fantastic!
Jesus Food - Thanks mate. Are you thinking of Robert Crumb or maybe the people responsible for the Freak Brothers?
Munin Raven - Cheers, I find it helps keep you going if you try to fill as much space as possible. I do have a tendency to facilitate everything though.
I really enjoy your work, not sure if I have left a comment before, but I have looked thorugh these pages quite a few times.. I like the style that you have, the flyer designs with people crazyly partying, characters, doodles, festival signs etc. I won't name the things that i specifically like, because there are too many of them, I would most problabally name most of the stuff you have posted in here lol.
On that spraypainting you posted last page, I would recommend you to "mix" more colors together, the good thing about spray paint it that you can easily blend colors together.. For example when spraying the sky or the clouds you can slightly fade diffrent tones into each other, the result will be more exciting, and if you give it a more thought and maybe use a reference photo you can achive very realistic results with spraypaint. Be more brave(umm.. to the lack of my vocabulary I can't think about a better word) with your colors maybe.. Though maybe the painting is like that because of the lack of time.. Anyway i hope my explanations are understandable:d
Keep up the good work, I am keeping an eye on your sketchbook.
Spark_zero - Thanks for your comments and I'm pleased you like my work.
I've always found spray painting very hard as I think it's a pretty demanding media to use. Thanks for the advice though, I need all the help I can get as I find my spray work a bit 'sketchy' and unfinished. The fumes don't help either.
Very original stuff my friend, good stuff . Anatomy looks a little wonky in some places though.
Goog - Thanks, I'm very slowly getting there with anatomy. It still really puzzles me though.
Here's a bit of spray painting I've been working on for the last few days.
I'm still not that confident with cans really although I think it would help if I planned better. This still needs work in various areas.
really cool stuff, love your sketch pages, so much variation of style in them
Wow, that's a lot of neat paintings and sketches you got there, remember, don't ever stop sketching it will make you improve more. I like that Lion's Den logo BTW.
You got some pretty sweet stuff here man. I love your concepts, you've got quite a vivid imagination, and an eye for detail. I like your paintings the best, those surfboards are really cool, and that spray paint tank is amazing. I'd love to see some more of that kind of stuff.
and thanks for stopping by my sketchbook
Thanks Lionsword, glad you like. The festival I did the truck for is this weekend, so I'll get to see what it looks like with everything else.
Here's the board finished, well my part anyway. Just needs the club title at the top and that's in the hands of someone else.
