wow dude u really arent wasting any paper are u, somewhere out there i can hear the trees praising u great face studies of late, i see major improvement in that area of ur drawing. keep it up!

Your face anatomy seems to be a bit off - unless you aim for that effect. Maybe some construction work dedicated to faces to get things in place?

Hey ben good to see you're uploading stuff, have you been doing any more life drawing since the last time because you should upload some of that as well.
your knowledge of the human body is very strong and your biggest strength is with the technological robotic aspects of your artwork which makes sense as thats what you said you were most interested in. However in my opinion the quality of faces that you do is below average in comparison. So definitely do some more studies of faces dude.
If you like i could point you to some stuff that i found useful.
The two boards you've done on this page are great definitely your best work so far, how did you make these? the graytone and black is exceptionally tight and smooth.
Good to hear from you. Unfortunetly I've been too busy with boards and website work to follow up with the life drawing, I suppose I could've fitted it in if I tried :/. Thanks for your mails about it though, once work starts to slacken off a bit I'll get to book a class or two.
Glad my anatomy is working, I've always though I work too much one faces to be honest. Oh well. Yeah, never my strong point as I feel I always draw the same face over and over again.
The boards were just done in acrylic. Worked from a previous sketch and then worked out where the main body goes and build up from there. It took me about a week to do the second board, much longer than I intended to spend on it but all for the best. They've been put to good use, check out the video.
Wow...yer sketchbooks are crazy good and creative. Keep working on color and "final" pieces...that's a bit behind your pencil work...but clearly you have the skill to do it!! I dig that metal-look downtown sign!

You're very right Jephyr X, I spend too much time on my sketchbook and not enough on the final pieces. Not really sure why.
I'm plugging away at colour too but I find it's a very hard thing to grasp when I keep working in greyscale. Thanks for your comment.

Ive done a quick paintover of your last painting,
ive mostly pushed the values on parts of the robot closer to the foreground Generally objects closer to the front will have a larger value range due to fog and atmosphere fading out distant areas. this also applies to saturation as well.
the main points id like to see are more variety in colour, bigger range of values and more attention to which parts and in which direction the light is hitting the robot and buildings.
To be fair i can see u already are aware of these things, all u need to do is do more photo and life studies and more colour illustrations and u will improve greatly.
Good to hear from you again. Thanks for the paint over, those tips for the values is great as I wondered why it just didn't have any depth. Orginally I tried to restrict myself with colour as I was doing it for use with spray paint, as I always find it a bind that you can easily run out a colour and that just buggers your piece as you can't just mix paints to recreate it.
Loving what you've done with the eye/lens and the reflections look great. I agree that I should try and work more with colour but I'm in a bit of a rut as the majority of commissions I get are for black and white or greyscale. But yeah, with spare time I should get colouring.

You got some really cool stuff going on, tons of cool sketches and concepts.
Something I get told alot and try to take notice of is contrast (or the lack of it) in digital stuff.
Doing some grayscale value studies between work helps with that alot.
Colour is a real bitch to work with digitally comparing to traditional media too, but that's just another thing to study.
Keep it up mate, you're doing great.
