I've been working on some illustrations for a modern version of Alice in Wonderland.
Its a school assignment and I need to make a total of 6 illustrations around this classic story.

In the last days I've been bussy with drawing different faces and costumes for Alice, I have quite a few and might show them in a near future. The one posted bellow is modern sketch of Alice which I like, although she defenitly needs more work and more reference to the story (I'm thinking about gadgets like a white rabbit toy and an image on her t-shirt, etc).

i'm probebly gething rid of her tits and the adams apple too, they bother me and other people...

Some people might have noticed that I took away the process shots from the previous post, however don't fear that I will not post them anymore. I'll probebly won't post a lot of them on this blog, from now on u will find my process shots
on a new blog called rescue us roro. Rescue Us Roro is all about being creative and inspiring one another. This blog was put together by non other then Julie Smits who is a verry close friend and a talented woman, Clochette is on there too!!!. The site includes other artists too, ranging from Illustrators to writers to traditional artists and so on. I will not only post process shots there, but I will also be posting about the things that inspire me like music, films other peoples work or just a simple quote that inspired me to do an illustration of sorts.

Oh man, these illustrations are what I'm trying to do. Lovely stuff.
Love the blog. I don't know how to add you as a blogspot bookmark so
I'll just do like the old and just use bookmarks.

Alice needs to operate on those nipples. A bit long, ney?

hey Brun,

I like where you are going with this stylization, and texture. I'd don't know how far along this is or whether you plan to take it further, but I'd love to see some areas righten up a bit.

Those portraits in your sketchbook are freaking awesome! What size are those? Are you using acrylic? They make me want to work even harder on my sketchbook!

I also really love the pencil sharpener thing. The colors on that are great - very appealing. Can't wait to see more!

It´s surprising to see such a variety of styles in the same artist. Maybe... some pieces could use more work to show a professional finished look?? But that´s a stupid thing to say since, first, the ones I´m saying that could use more work are placed at the very beggining of your SB and also are intended as fast pieces, and second, I was comparing with those neat pieces like the Butler and the one for Lancier Skate. So, the only thing I can say, is that I´m envious of such a developed creativity and of course of all the great skills you keep showing and improving in every of your pieces. Some of your works remind me of the subtle style of James Jean.

Looking fordward to see more.

Cheers.

Jose.

P.S: I originally said the following:

"...Maybe... some pieces could use more work to show a professional finished look?? A few indeed. That´s the only thing I can tell to point out some kind of helper for you..."

, but casually re-reading I noticed that I used an expression(sorry about my english) that could be misinterpreted, and also what I said about comparing your most finished pieces with your fast works.

These are my favorite

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1221164949

They have a lot of character and with slight melancholy. The textures colors I'm digging. It think the gentlemen at the far right looks a bit crossed eye though. But it gives him a lot of character.
