Hi there! Thanks for visiting my sb
Your LMS painting looks pretty good, here's some thoughts that would perhaps push it a little - The lightsource is strong enough to cast light all the way up the alley to the foreground, I would expect the underneath of the mech to be in quite a lot of light as well. The sourcewould also be much brighter, and produce strong highlights on glancing planes that are reflective. It should help put focus on the mech and help it read a little better.
Great studies and drawings, I'm learning much just looking at them!
this page is effing fantastic1!!!1
keep it up!
Seconded! Looking good, especially like the guy with horns - very well done.
Don't let "artist depression" get you down, (or all moody like you put it) - I think we all get that . It helps to go nuts and do things you normally wouldn't, basically just learning something get's rid of it haha.
the sharks and hands pages are looking boss, really great fluidity in the figures on http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...k2/augpg07.jpg too. artist's depression is the worst thing that can happen to anybody, in case you haven't seen it: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...&postcount=182 is an amazingly inspiring kick in the bum to get yourslef drawing again imo.
I looked at all of your pictures in this thread and I liked them all. You have talent. You are at a place most of us will never be. Now please don't tell me you're only 17.
P.S. Thank you for not drawing penises.
where the hell have you run off to? You've shown us great improvement and then you go into hiding. Stupid... Stupid... Stupid of you. You sometimes tend to draws the hairline way too up making the women seem like bride of the frankenstain. Study the forehead. Sorry that I have been too lazy to post anything here for a while, but once you reappear I will certainly come here more often.
Dude there's not enough penises in this damn thread! Get on it!
Oh and your improvement made me swear alot. Damn you for upstaging me. *shakes fist* The spiderman is kick azz!
That rocks my jockettes. You, my friend, are going places.
Holy fuck. I am THE definition of lazyarse wanker. How did I let it get to this? Psh. Had a bit of downtime and got tied up with other assignments on the way, ugh, which really sapped any motivation, but I'm back and here we go.
So to try and crawl back, here's a bajillion pages of sketchcrap in my neverending quest for, uh, improvement. I'll post them in segments. First up, some recent colour stuff and some of the oldest (read: crappiest) sketchpages from August. Wow. Old.
My LMS2 Round 2 entry. I got owned by Vyle and Yumiko
I was working on this for someone but kind of lost it...
Rockmuncher. 3 hours I think. It's hot here, I wish I was standing where he is.
Okay, old August crap. Dinosnores!
Was waiting for a class to start, I think. No refs obviously :p
Manta rays. I think this was one of my first warmups for my LMS TDome piece.
Now for the early september crud. No refs = I am a horrible learner.
Eeew girl. I used my arm and hand as ref here.
More to come, once I upload 'em...better keep those eyedrops handy.
Here comes (the rest of) September...
No refs. Pure spumeage.
And again. Couple of Loomis head setups there, though.
Randoms...whoa some funky anatomy there.
Hogarth setups and scribble.
Some rough photo refs.
Nearly finished uploading the last of them, coming up...
Excellent figure studies I'd like to see you draw more from life, not only figures if you can but more importantly a light shining on a sphere and understanding the gradation from light to dark. Loomis has pictures of a setup I think.
The anatomy looks really solid by now. Reminds me that i have to do some anatomy studying soon. Overall good work. Can really see anything to comment on. Just keep on doing you stuff, it is improving.
50 animal gestures for the Gesture Thunderdome #3. I made it, no Losatar for me Stock photo refs. I need to start using a darker pencil and stop being so...blocky?
I have been doing other stuff, just busy with final uni projects. Comin soon.
You really know how to draw those wolfes. Superb stuff here. I must say i refer blocky drawing compared to too slick ones.
rodrigo, Njord, invincible, thanks guys. I guess I was just used to seeing all these swooshy flowy gesture studies and I felt a bit lame in comparison. Heh.
And what's this eh? Another update in less than a week?! Initial lighting study for an assignment, I used myself as a ref. Don't worry, I am gonna draw the nipples in, I just got lazy. Any crits are more than welcome, I want to get this looking good:
I'll have the wormy-things faded into the BG more as I go along cos the figure is the focal point, but yeah, any suggestions/burnings are more than welcome
Hi, Excellent start to the piece, just a little concerned at this stage the light source doesnt seem consistent. If it has a global light source then the lighting currently on the figure would work the best. Will keep checking in on this..
First thing, It's hard to see whats going on. Everything is nicely rendered, but what is the narrative? What is that worm thing doing there? Why is there a feather? The overall nice though, it's just missing some highlights.
You should just take a look at the light source at some places. I presume this is from a picture of youself (which i wouldn't mind seeing - no offence though ^^). Even though there seems to be a lightning problem on the right arm. There is also a slight problem in the abs, some of the muscles seem to be a bit off.
It looks like a really promising piece now.
Cheers dudes. I'll start working on the digipaint soon, once I read through all the crits and get to fixing it. Njord, the way it's planned out, there's going to be more creepy-critters lurking in the background, but the main focus'll be the girl and the floaty-glowy-thing (haven't figured out what it's gunna be yet, heh). I will work up the lightsource study from the photoref more, at the moment it looks a bit rough and askew, hopefully that will give it more punch for me to continue on from?
For now though, here's some more studies and some pencil-spume
Certainly not either of the above!
great structure in these. and the animals all look really alive, which is sort of the best thing you can get.
nice stuff man.

tensai, hey man, thanks for stopping by!
koh yeah I got a bit of a soft spot for werewolves too, they're just too damn fun to draw eh?
invincible: thanks! I stuck an update up to show a bit more of the story, i think.
Here we go, trying to keep it regular now!
First up, some progress on that assignment. I have it in the WIP forum too with earlier versions and revisions.
She looks utterly STONED with that eye. A few people have suggested changing the eye to be more like it was in the sketch, so I'm working on that. Also, a friend told me to remove the highlight on her left side of the ribs near the breast (viewer's right), what do you guys think? Gonna flesh out and fade away the monsters more too.
More Loomis/old medical anatomy textbook studies.
And again. This killed me, but I'm learning.
When I get really pissed off for no real reason, I find my blunt 3B and 6B pencils and just let the graphite do the talking...not caring about refs and all, just angry dark jerky lines and shit. Hmm.
Seeya soon, back to work for me...
That loomis page is a killer, must have taken an awful amount of time.
Two things i want to mention on the digi paint. The right breast has a highlight which looks wrong. Also a little fading of the light would be nice. Have the most contrast in the hand and face and gradually fade it down the figure.
