The eye is killing
Great hands study Im waiting for more perspective studies, as the most important
We want more
yup! We want more!
I see that you, like me, have the scribbly sketcy lines issue.
I got the advice to draw with a pen more, and no matter how off it looks, just go on with it.
Also don't use your eraser a lot. Try to not really need it at all (which is damn hard )
And do a lot of studies of anything!
I think that your shading skill is great, so maybe (again; as me) work on your linework.
Oh and... Where did all your drawings go on GFXartist?
I can only find pictures. there.
Maybe post them here chronologically to show your progress?
Keep it up!
Not bad at all!
here's something i did today...kinda crappy
i discovered that ive become rusty with my big b pencils, did this one with a 6B, just for the fun of it
yeah, looks flat and skin like a mummy
I said everything I could alredy. Keep rocking
this is not crappy at all!
I really like the lighting, and the hands and hair look awesome (only the right hand seems to have 6 fingers? )
Did you do this from a photo? (i'm pretty sure you did because I think it's you in the photo )
Maybe you should do some imaginative stuff too, so you won't always have to find reference material to draw some idea that pops up into your head?
Maybe try some simple human poses from the mind, or a lot of facial expressions. And if it doesn't seem to work out, just find a lot of pictures from human poses / facial expressions and draw them, so you'll be easier off doing them with minimal reference.
Oh and you should try paper with less texture (bristol) paper once to get smoother shading, I always used Canson before and then my drawings teacher bought sketchbooks with smoother paper for everyone in our group and I really liked that paper a lot more because that seems much easier to get smooth transitions and all with graphite.
Well I think I've said enough ^^
I'm looking forward to your next update.
there are 5 fingers there only the "upper" one is actually the base of the thumb from the other hand
paper...i live in a pretty retarded city where you barely find pencils...so we will see about that
as for expression...weird thing is that i get expressions right every time i draw cartoons...maybe i'll post some
atm i'm doing studies to get lighting, shading and anatomy issues right, only after i get these at hand i'll do more imaginative stuff(like the valkyrie)
dont think i dont do imaginative, its just that i prefere to learn in a different way and then use what ive gathered
study made today
sorry for the quality of it...bad scan and i'm using a different pc atm because the other one's getting some more ram memory (my wacom arrived and i need rams)
i liked the valkyrie drawing too much so i expanded the paper to A3 size and made an environment
gonna start rendering it soon so please give me some usefull stuff before i begin work
and yeah, no refs this time...just my pretty little head
Very nice stuff!
I think those life (or at least refed) works look much more solid.
Try to use what you've learned doing them in your imaginary stuff: shading, anatomy etc.
Keep it up !
yay for your wacom arrival! And yay also for the extra RAM memory
I think your drawings are very accurate and superbly rendered, all of em.
About the Valkyrie drawing; that environment looks WOW! I do think it's just a bit boring that you placed the girl in the exact center of the drawing, but that's the only crit I can find for now
As for the stones I think it's good to have a few references of different stone textures with you when you render them, and also decide from where the light should come and stick to that.
Oh and also maybe put a paper on the drawing paper for your arm to rest on so you don't accidentally smudge the girl out (but maybe you already do that ^^)
I have nothing else to say.
i defo do that because i'm a lefthand and sometimes i do things backwards
i got some stone refs, and actually made a bit of the wall(will post an update soon)
took about 3 photos of stone walls, looked at them and then went to the paper and made a small test portion to see how it looks and felt good
accuracy...when it comes to drawing i prefere accuracy, very true...but in painting i let myself loose...have to balance it somehow
I love how this is progressing Cant wait for ivy
Wow! -Jawdrop- That's.. it's hard to phanthom the time/patience its taking to create that.... Amazing!Originally Posted by Cigaro
your rending is quite good but your sense of depth and form seem to be lagging behind. Try doing a lot of loose line drawings I'd recommend, define the form with just quick lines. Either from life or ref... just dont spend more than a minute on them... loosen that shit up!
wow you are much further then I was at your age ^^
the rendering is great (you must be very patient)
the ones with the black BG from reference
did you draw them with white or have you rly done all the black? o_O
I'm flattere by those

Ferg- thank you for the feedback...i'll do my best
Infinit- i've done all the black, yes
anyway, update...played with the tablet a bit, getting used to ps and brushes
as usual you know my opinion Im trying to save your "PS getting used to" time
Wowww that valkyrie drawing is looking nice!
You must have spent an assload of time on that.
I'm wondering; what are you going to do with the background behind the girl?
the bg...still have to think about it...its gonna have to give it depth
anywho..."something" with the tabby, about 5-10 mins
