Walid D: I can't help it! Square brushes just feel right to me! :3
Connor: Good to hear, my friend, good to hear! ---- Yesterday's and the day before's. Sketchin....I went back to making faces because I need something more to spice up these things...I think I should try getting more introspective...and mixed media is another fun way to go. |

Man, your pencils are looking so nice.
As soon as I saw the second one I laughed. It's a funny face, really good execution though. Reminds me that I need to work on my hands as well.

no87: Much appreciated, my friend! Thanks!
Connor:Ahh yes, I feel like I've been running low on ideas lately so it's either experimental pencil technique or making faces. :3 --- marker! ink! pencil! |

The pink and brown marker piece is fantastic! So cool. The pen piece is really really good as well... absolutely wonderful. The pencil piece didn't quite capture your likeness though... something in the proportions... and maybe the nose as well. Keep it up man, it's all so lovely.

Oil on cardboard self portrait...done in about 1.5-2hrs. 9"x12" I think...
Backing it up is the still life set up I'm working on...simple, but complicated. Tin foil will be my undoing. |

I just looked through your entire thread of SPs in one go, man, absolutely amazing! I especially like your experiments with different facial expressions, something different and you can't fall into a routine there.
It's truly inspiring - I doubt I can do a SP a day but I should at least draw every day... - so now it's time to look at your SB as well ![]() Keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing! |

zweiDee: Thanks man, it means a lot! I appreciate you stopping by!
Icecold orry about completely skimming over your comment last time around.Yep! I use PainterX. While I try to mix it up, my favorite brushes still end up being hard square brushes usually. I like to tweak them or make my own but a lot of them are based off of some of the default pastel, chalk, or oil pastel brushes in painter. For that portrait in particular I'm pretty sure that's what I was using. was working on a quick sketch self portrait in oil...turns out I might take it further than I originally planned. Crappy cell phone pictures--I apologize. Still working... Drawing from a reaaally warpy mirror across the room... My roommate was playing Bioshock while I was painting this...and it just kind of bled in...the stripes on the side are actually inspired by some of the display glitches that PainterX has on my pc on occassion. Ich...not pleased with this one at all...crappy colored pencils didn't help. I'll post today's a little later on hopefully... |
