those creatures at the top are great design-wise, the thumbnail image looked superb and had to look at the thread! Are they for any particular project?

I really like that first image. The creatures/characters are interesting and believable, and they fit into the environment well. You've crafted a convincing window into a new world. Good work.

As a nitpick I would say the ripples around the main birdman's feet seem overdone, and the reflection in the water of the far birdman seems too stark and clean, could use a tad of breakup, particularly down towards the head.

I Like the first one it's a reworking of N C Wyeth the Hunter am i right? nice idea and it is a beautiful painting but i think you should acknowledge the original source material.

Thanks so much to all of you for the comments Gonna have to keep this reply brief I'm afraid!
Phil Moss: Thanks man- they're not really for any specific project, just a bit of fun.
Fuzziest Johnson: Just the first image and the Film Fest poster. I'm new to painter but I'm loving it so far!
woric: Thanks dude, I'm guessing you're a Wellingtonian?
SinnerMan: Much appreciated. I LOVE my art pen but I still use my standard one lots too... especially for detail and more 'designy' stuff.
Burhtun: Thanks for the feedback. My flatmate Cavematty also thought the ripples seemed too 'regular', I think you're both right
Wiggers: Yes it is inspired at least in part by the Wyeth painting- is there a protocol people use for referencing their sources? Excuse the ignorance!
seetsy: I sure was Hugely inspirational few days. I feel I owe a whole lot of my progress since then to all the MB crew
Thanks again! More images soon

As most of the others have said, the first image is wonderful. Near perfection. The design of the beings, the lighting, the pose, the anatomy, color, composition, gesture...all great. I love the design of the creature's quarry, as well. Nice combination of newt and catfish.

Self portrait looks great, too. Very clean, well-lit, and well rendered.

I have some crits on the last three. For the ancient civilizations character lineup, the woman second from left feels odd, proportionally. The woman with the white gown and fancy headdress also feels very stiff. For the woman with the record player, there are some proportional issues. Mainly, her arms and shoulders are much too small. For the last image, the tangent between the jumping figure's foot and the building in the background makes it feel somewhat like he's landing on the building, rather than onto the train. It's a bit of a nitpick, but I thought I'd mention it.

Wonderful work, once again. Now, I'm going to go check out your website.

@Foci i have no idea at all about the correct protocol when referencing source material, it was just a personal point of view. It doesn't take anything away from what is an outstanding piece of work and i'm not trying to be negative in any way but i think it would be interesting for people to see the original Wyeth work just to see how clever you have been with it.
