your last few pieces have been looking really nice on the rendering side, something you could do to instantly improve all your paintings is to include some subtle color variation throughout the entire piece, but mostly around the focal point.
It's a really simple concept but highly effective, just pick out parts of your painting and shift the color just a tiny bit without shifting the value and paint a different color around it, it's not necessarily realistic but it will give your work more a sense of life. You can do it pretty much anywhere but make sure you use it with intent, compositionally.
Hope to see more soon .
Yay, you're an alive example of what I should have done 10 years ago and I regret not having done. Now I'm fighting hardly to afford the art education I gave up at your age, but sometimes it feels a bit too late. Your tenacity is really legendary, and may this thread be a testimony to the world about what every young artist wannabe should do when he considers quitting due to frustration.
Incredible works and you're so damn great. YOu can become an influencial artist.
Keep up the good work!
hey man, pretty rocking stuff.
your understanding of form is truly mature for your age.. I suggest you take some serious time in the planning stages and map out something epic. even if you dont finish it, continuing to practice what you already know wont keep you growing. Keep going BIG, and keep challenging yourself. Just keep kicking ass man.
Nice work! i'm loving that last post. keep it up!
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Thanks so much for all the support everyone! I really appreciate it D:
As for the absence, I've been skiing in Switzerland the past week, which was so so good. Obviously being physically drained every evening made it difficult to keep up a lot of drawing, as well as being on holiday, but I've got a small pencil update to share.
A wip comp
A study of a friend from college, gonna start doing a lot more life drawing in free periods
Next is a few studies for my Fine Art course at school.
A study of Phil Hale, this man is a genius http://www.allenspiegelfinearts.com/hale.html
and another study
A Kent Williams study http://www.allenspiegelfinearts.com/williams.html
Lastly some quick digital sketch
Nothing special or finished but you knooowwwww..
Thanks for looking
I'm especially fond of the digi sketch. Really like how you are developping your own recoqnizable style and stuff. Wicked. NIcely lit boobs.
Kinda think you overrendered the first one. Well it's actually more that their faces ain't that pretty. A bit too much rendering going on can't really rest my eye. Due to the fact that you rendered the faces really heavily as well as the background. Try and get some more balance in that. Interesting studies man.
Girl from college looks pretty hot well drawn ehe.
WOW! Great progress from start to finish! Great sketchbook =)

sweet studies, never heard of Phil Hale but i'm glad i know now.
Still going strong I see I drop by every now and then and it's a joy to see your updates, each and every time again... You were the first person I ran into here on CA that literally dropped my jaw and has been an inspiration like no other... Keep doing what you're doing, you'll be big!
Dude you have such a wonderful sketchbook!
From first page till now, I'm speechless. I never seen a person made such a improvement on their skills in such short period.
like sb pages!!
Great work, I've seen only last 4 pages
There is still alot to improve but as I'm really not close to you now, I can't really tell anything else that others did not already suggested to you.
Drop an eye to my sketches , I'm mostly interested of what you think about my last work there.
I have to tell some of my thoughs to you miles, i think you have reached a "plateau" in skill where you are only refining what you have learned up till now and not breaking any further anymore. Over last 10 pages in your sketchbook you have painted womans face in close up too many times, not been breaking out of your comfort zone, where are the male characters? enviroments? action scenes? mechanical designs? illustrations?
I am just saying this because your progress has been really something to see, has been one of the reasons i started sketchbook long time ago... so don't start getting too comfortable and slacking up Miles, you have to start taking challenges again and leave us rest to dust.
