OK This was drawn on a3 using pencils, then black ink pens ranging from .3 technical to a permanent cloth marker. Finished off by using a tria Pantone grey marker for the colouring. The colouring was a simple hue shade in photoshop elements.
I consider this completed, the shading was just an after thought but i want to know your opinions good or bad.
Wow. That looks amazing. How long did that take. I really like the whole alien\guyver feel. One crit ony. The color is one color only, maybe adding greys or different hues might enhance the over-all picture. If not, it's still an amazing work of art.
yes the pen work was a bit of an afterthought, and ironically the pen was the only shade i had on me at the time. I may go back and re shade it with different shades.
As for the design I wanted something meaty which said: dont $%*$ with me. It reminds me of an old WW2 era Focke Wulf (not intentional though.)
The whole thing was about 3-4 hours in total. Most of that was trying to get the look right. I'm a bit particular on how the design should look in my eyes, it has to be functional, not just pretty i want people to say: yes those are the engines, guns, sensors wings etc.
I was actually thinking the same thing, a gradated background instead of straight up black.
I really like your design and clean style. It has unusual looks, but its not too far fetched.
The only thing I'd add are smaller details maybe, like burn marks around the nozzle (engrish?) of the guns (not sure what kind of weapons it would use). Plus it helps you see whether something is an engine or weapon.
Or perhaps a door of some sort, or a nickname/logo/number print on the side or wings. Thats something you often see on machinery and vehicles.
Just suggestions though, I'm a rookie myself ;s. Great stuff, keep it up!
though the perspective seems a bit off in the area behind the cockpit
