I figured the penguins would have had that problem with the unorigionality, but at least I got what I wanted out of it... a couple of laughs and a chance to try to figure out how to work the wacom.
That's it! Learning by doing
I will back fozz on the way he is running things here. Keep doing it! I know why I did not go to the poll and I chose to not have my entry go to the polls by not filling the criteria. I thought my idea was balls stupid. So I stopped. Doing creatures are pretty tough, especially when your doing EOW every week hehe. Sticking to the criteria really helps to hone what your doing and teaches you direction. Also it seems to prepare people when they go into the industry of games and film to follow criteria. Basically you will be doing that right? I like to see Fozz as the Art Director and you have to please him with your work or your project get rejected especially if it does not fit the criteria. Wacka, wacka, wacka!
omg....that's the point, where things go worse...
I think you miss the point I was making- what you said, straight out- was that in the end, the criterias don't matter at all, but they will be used as an excuse to let some people outside the voting.
Again, I was okay with why mine didn't make it. I am quite sure that everyone who didn't make it to the voting round was okay with the reasons given, what they aren't okay with is the fact that others made it to the voting even though they breach the same rules that some of those that wasn't let through.
I'll give an example, in which I will grossly exxagerate, on how it looks like you view this:
Technically, if I'm your bestest buddy or if I just paint very well, I can paint Conan the Librarian and still get let through to the voting for COW #XYZ ("the hidden creatures of easter island"), whilst "some other bloke" doesn't go through to the voting, because he painted a single creature on the image, and it isn't clear through the description that this is a species rather then a unique creature.
And thats what I reacted too.
From that point of view, it really seem unfair, and thats how this particular turn has looked as well.
Regardless of what was the reason, I find it quite important that you stress that this isnt the way the entirety works, but rather that due to circumstances this time it might "look" like it.
Evidently, since people still are irritated by it, this hasn't been stated clear enough. And I found your answer to my question further emphasizing that other people where correct in their assumption.
Thats what I was talking about.
still, there is no alternate to let some pass the control if i haven't enough time and if we want to keep COW running within the set deadlines...
Revise all COW rounds and you will see that this is bullshit. I already rejected nearly every pro who violated the rules too much...Technically, if I'm your bestest buddy or if I just paint very well, I can paint Conan the Librarian and still get let through to the voting for COW #XYZ ("the hidden creatures of easter island"), whilst "some other bloke" doesn't go through to the voting, because he painted a single creature on the image, and it isn't clear through the description that this is a species rather then a unique creature.
i think Frostdrake's drawing is very good... i like it, dont know why, that makes me more afraid.
the instinct always tells me not to turn my back at that ... thing, that look a goat... lol
i follow my instincts very often....a lot.
