Yaaay I'm back again! Haha.
Last year was crazy for me. So much freelance work beside my part-time position and barely any play at all.
But now I'm back again for a while. Just thought that I might share some of my sketches, doodles, wips etc. and perhaps even get some feedback on my work.
First off, my first finished color illustration of the year. Horses of course, just to reboost my inspiration a bit
Yup I think this is it for now. I might have more if I dig deeper hehe. Or I'll just make new once soon
Thanks so much for looking!
This is a really fun SB - you've got such great control when drawing animals! I love the sulky pup in 482.
Don't run away again-- I'd like to see more ^_^
AimBiZ: Thank you Luggen Well nowadays I aim for nailing more story and personality in my characters/illustrations. I'm also trying to understand more dynamic lighting nowadays cause it drives me nuts that I don't feel secure enough there haha.
Rhubix: Thank you! Aww! I'll promise to try not to disappear again hehe.
MeteorCat: Thank you so much!
Here's some more art for ya! Two more dragons this time plus a grumpy wolf. Trying to loosen up. The dragons are only a few hours each.
Haven't been here for a while. You've got such lovely form and character to your work, it's a pleasure to look at. I love those dragons! But then I love dragons
@Sickbrush: Heyy there Good to see you here as well
@el eiko one: Thank you!
@GEB: Haha thanks! Yeah dragons are cool, I just started studying them so hopefully there will be more dragons in the future!
Allright, here are some more stuff for you!
Some doodles, sketches and character designs!
I started to upload some youtube videos to my channel over there as well.
Uploaded these two videos so far and I'm planning to make more vids
Please let me know what you think, and if you have any requests, don't hesitate to tell me
Nickname is OriginalNoukah if you want to subscibe to it. The videos are also in HD.
Thanks for watching!
Some steps of my latest painting "Relax, she's friendly"
Done i Photoshop CS5 as usual, using a cintiq 12WX & a wacom intuos4
Early colour wip:
B/w to check values as painting:
Thanks for looking, hope you like
Lovely as usual. I like those faces you got on the latest. My only tiny crit would be that they are a bit hard to focus on. There's other bright spots in the image that seem to draw the eyes away from the characters, like the creatures paws. You got the light really good though, smooth and with good contrast.
Yay you're back! Fantastic charcters, love your style
@rumpenstiltzkin: Tack så mycket!
@AimBiZ: Thanks for the nice feedback! I'll definitely think more about leading the eye in my future works to improve that a little bit more. In this case, there has been split opinions regarding the monster's paws. Some preferred it to be even more detailed, others though it was a tiny bit distracting. Oh well, better luck next time
@GEB: Yay! Sorry for being gone
@Sickbrush: haha hello there. And thanks
Bahh, here's another wip that I'm working on.. It's supposed to be a reference sheet for a pencil drawing so I don't want to overdo it either. I gotta draw more tigers, I really love'em
Photoshop CS5 + cintiq 12WX + intuos4
Oh and another thing before I forget. Does anyone here have Instagram?
Nickname is Noukah over there. I'm looking for more artists to follow so feel free to tell me your nicks/follow me and I'll follow you back!
That's all for now. Still got the itch so I'll just continue sketching on some other stuff
Those tigers are amazing. They have so much emotion!
Take a look at these gurneys journey blog posts: http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/20...pomorphic.html
They're a great read and they might give you some inspiration. When I see your work I immediately think of the images in the four blog posts above
Nice stuff here, keep up the studies! Watch your colors though, they tend to get a little muddy at times which hurts that straight, cartoony style of yours a bit. you did I good job on that fox by really seperating that colors and values, more of that please
Wow! I jumped from page 1 to the last one, as I was curious to see the progression. Already on page 1 everything was looking really good, and then on this last page I was like WHOOOAHH. I know it's been progress from 2007 but still, so good.
You must be very happy with how well you are doing, I hope you keep posting your stuff here too
Interesting work you're doing. I'm going to suggest maybe trying media you're less familiar with, ink with brushes or maybe paint? I mention this, because you use tones, but they have less impact when done in pencil and I reckon you can add more kick.
Good work though, look forward to seeing more!
would love to see more traditional sketchies ... they r REALLY great D:

@MeteorCat: Thank you very much and also thanks so much for those awesome links! I love his blog, it's always inspiring to read it
@Mikko Voipio: Thank you so much!
@Gloominati: Thank you very much for your feedback! I'll definitely think of what you saud about the colours, and I'll try to make more studies. It can never hurt
@JulieSS: Wow thank you much! I guess that's the good thing with sticking to the same blog thread, even though things might get a bit slow sometimes, you can clearly see an improvement after a couple of years. I'm never satisfied though haha Thanks again!
@Satu: Thank you!!
@Fetsch: Wow thanks so much, and thx for stopping by! Your work is really impressive too, I used to lurk around in your SB from time to time for some inspiration
@The_Flying_Dutchman: Thank you! Yes, nowadays I actually only sketch with ink and brushpens, trying to get away from my comfort zone since I've been to attached to pencils. It's very helpful and you definitely grow bolder. I'll post some scribbly stuff from my physichal sb below - hope you like!
@Fernteixeira: Thank you! Here are some pages from my sb, hope you like!
Aight, this is always a bit uncomfortable, but here are some scribbly pages out of my real sketchbook! Nowadays I always carry a sketchbook with me and try to scribble a little every day.
I mostly draw with ink, brushpens and mechanical pencils with colored leads. I also use a white gel pen for highlights and such
