Blown away man, you make the vehicle and marker renderings look like they should be easy as pie. Can't fault anything myself.
Vulgar': Thanks I might enter an EOW real soon actually, since I should start on some more landscapes soon.
y266 2000: Thanks for stopping by.
Demo: Yep thanks for the kick in the butt I need to work on those landscapes.
Devere: Finally had some time to do more than just a quick scribble I guess. Thanks
Finally got around to finishing my IDW entry. I have the feeling the composition could've been way better if I'd planned it a bit better from the start, but it's time to go on with the next project I guess.
Yoitsi, great stuff you have in this sketchbook, i love the design you made for IDW, i hope to join some of these someday.
Keep it up!!!
Carbono: Hope to see you in the IDW section soon then
Time for an update I guess. Been busy last week with finishing my entry for POW: Panels of the Week. Making comics is a lot of fun but mostly just hard work There's tons of stuff I already want to change from page 1, but for that the deadline was invented I guess. Still, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Also started on a COW entry for the current round: Arctic Dinosaur. Not sure if I'll finish anything for it or just start to paint dinosaurs for myself actually
And a speedpaint for the Daily Sketchgroup. Already forgot what the actual topic was, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out for a 1 hour Thunderdome we did for DSG on the IRC channel.
It's been awhile since I've been over. Okay that tank vehicle you did on the last page...holy smokes. Absolutely one hundred percent pure awesomeness and what a great looking portfolio piece. That comic is looking good and it has that yoitisi penwork feel to it. Really the only possible pointer or suggestion I could add is maybe think about laying down some softer strokes to your full paintings. Sometimes you have these really sharp defined strokes that pop out sometimes. It looks like your already really improving though in that area. Your last IDW was great.
Fantastic work as usual. Your POW entry is solid in all aspects... damn those deadlines, right? There's always things to change and improve, but alas!
Just dropping in for some support.
Teh Gosu: Thanks dude
Trashy: Thanks for the critique, you're right. It's partly the speed with which I do most of the earlier paintings, I didn't give myself the time to go in there and refine it a bit. Working on it indeed
squidmonk3j: Thanks for stopping by in here!
IanE: Deadlines are holy! I'm actually glad they exist, they keep me focused.
Lyno: Thanks! The ImagineFX magazine is amazingly hard to get here in the Netherlands, but I've seen James Gurneys work and am a big fan of him for a while now
Small time update, some sketches I've been working on the past days. First one is another attempt at the Stegosaurus. It's hard to get the proportions right, and I'm not really happy with this one actually.
The last one is a sketch for a more illustration focused piece I'm planning to do one of these days. Inspired by Paul Bonners work
Big fan here!
Help me improve my drawing skills by commenting my sketchbook
amazing!!! love this SB
Your sketchbook is very nice and inspiring.
Love the panels and all your works in general.Btw the stegosaurous it seems fine for me, but ok always there is place for improvements
back again once more good work on keeping busy gota keep at it but you know that, liking the dinosours, the pannels were really well done but i found them kind of hard to piece togehter what was going on some times but im not an experienced comic reader so dont read much into it gona be adding more of theis to my ref folder so keep it comming
Nightblue: Will do! Thanks for dropping in.
mitrandil20: Glad you like it.
Kingkostas: Thanks. Part of being an artist is to know there is always room for improvement
Worked some more on the idea for the illustration. Trying to find a nice composition and story telling elements that would fit in there. It's probably going to be dwarfs vs. a Wyrm or something like that.
Also started to work on some possible characters and poses, but got caught up in rendering this one Feels a bit like a polished turd though...bleh.
Wow! Such a massive collection of prime stuff! Your'e lines are so hot I am close to drooling. But I dun wanna ruin my good shirt. Anyhoot you stuff is excellent, and you need only to keep challenging yourself and always make sure you push yourself outside the borders of your comfort zone, so that you evolve as much as you can^^
Hey partner.. those pencils are looking damn good my friend! Thanks for stopping by the sketchbook, you're like the other half of my brain man, need more honest critiques from guys like you. Keep it up!
MY DAILY SKETCHES
If you can read this, I gave you 5 stars
Your pencil sketches and the Spear of Lugh are crazy good
I like how your vehicles are inspired by ViewMasters! Say thanks for stopping by my SB a couple weeks ago--your tips help a lot. I'd love to see more Photoshop portraits; the one you did has a lot of personality. His hair needs to blend a little more into his scalp though.
great stuff man! really dig those vehicle-concepts!
