I love the expressive linework, and the contrast in your paintings. I used a few of your enviro studies for some of my studies, hope you don't mind! Keep up the awesome work!
all hail Coffee! ^^ gotta take some time to process what you learned and watch around you to try and apply it on the real world, really helps me calm down and get pumped for the next coffee marathon.
anyway great sb, really like where ur going, these last 2 have nice edges and sweet colors. looking forward to see more!
hey, thank you - wow i feel flattered for someone uses my stuff as "study" material (justdont forget to credit me )
Real ... what? real ... wo.. world? sorry dontknow what yourtalking about - anyway, time to get a new coffee
Dude, that yellow monster has some real nice lighting on it, good work.
Making someone else feel like trash is a huge compliment!
For storms will rage and oceans roar
When Gabriel stands on sea and shore
And as he blows his wondrous horn
Old worlds die and new be born.

Wow, man, tremendous growth this year.
Your ability to just, *sculpt* with value is enviable. Also the use of light: beautiful.
I would say, keep improving the cleanliness and strength of your silhouettes. I don't
see many examples of drawing or under-drawings here, so I'm not sure if your skipping
that, or how strong your skills are in that area...
Also try to really push the use of value contrast for composition. Do some
pages of thumbnails for that purpose. Maybe read up on Loomis' chapter on tone in
Anyways, you're continuing to improve all the time, post more more more.
sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment
“When forced to work within a strict framework,
the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”
- TS Eliot
hey man, glad to see you here again!
yeah your right about that silhouettes, very good and useful critique, i will concentrate
on silhouettes and lines a bit more in the next time - tobad im full of comissions (wich on the other hand is a lucky thing ) so i have very little time for personal training, but look at the end of this post, i managed to do at least some little silhouette based sketches
hey guys n gals didnt update for a few weeks .. hehe im not lazy im just doing tons of freelance comissions this time, i started freelancing 2 1/2 months ago and im blasted - its such an amazing job, the sad thing is, much less time for personal stuff, wich is the sad reason why the amazing Velocity Kendall (Al Brady) and i didnt finish the Beauty and Nightmare collaboration piece...
anyway at first ill show you the work and sketches ive done for the beauty and nightmare thing, then some little sketches, cant wait to show you that comission stuff, just have to wait until these projects will be released
here are the sketches i did for Beauty and Nightmare
mostly pretty fast and rough stuff ..
this next one was the sketch we chose to work out
and heres where the deadline ended :/ i just managed to render the left side a little bit cleaner but soo far away from being finished
closeup of the hand, was extremely challenging to render the hand in that position, and with so many objects and jewelry, had to think very hard about how its all placed corretly
adjusted some things at this enviroment above
galactic - whatever
silhouetted based character/monster - exploration pretty fast 20-30min each
andfinally just to keep everything from looking too serious
wow beautiful stuff, I love your creatures/characters, and the solidity of them.
great colours! love em all!
Very nice creatures ( the one with a lot of muscle is awesome!) and very cool speed paints!
Ein Deutscher! Haltetet ihn! :>
Naja, weiter so !
I'm loving the mood you manage to capture, thats something I'm always struggling with.
