Hi everyone. I just wanted to show off some pages from a new project I just started on. I hope you'll all take a minute to comment. I'd really like to hear what people think of my work. Anyways, the book is called 'This Hollow World' and it's my first time handling all the art chores on a book. It's written by Nick Nunziata, with art and letters by me. Nick asked that I link to the announcement at his site (chud.com) anywhere I post. So here is the link to the announcement as well as the cover for chapter one and the first five pages. Thanks!
The actual pages within the book are excellent. The color schemes and tone are really well done. The front cover however really is lacking in comparison to the other images. Something about the central characters position or the faulty head anatomy on some of the creatures just doesnt do these other pages justice. I would say remove or shadow out any creature head you can. Have the composition consist mostly of arms and the central character. In addition work on the sense of the arms gripping. Right now some of them look more like theyre caressing. Good work overall though, just tweak that front cover a bit more.
Nexus: Thanks for the honest crit. Definitely appreciated.
Jesus man. This is fantastic. The colors are gorgeous and the atmosphere is out of this world.
I want more... NOW!
All the cool kids ignore my ketchook.
