Heya. I'm new here and I'm just dang blown away with the talent and creativity of some artists on this site. Hopefully some of it will rub of on me! =D I'm 16, and will be applying for colleges next year and I wish to go to art school but I must get a scholarship if I want to do so. So hit me with Crits guys cause I gotta get better!

First update! This is a pen and ink contour line study, a drawing I did of the back of some kids head during history class, and a random dude from my head that I didn't finish.
Some more stuff digital doodles and a Graphite piece that took forever.
Looking to go to an art college eh? Seems youre doing exactly what you need to do to get better my skilled young friend. Your rendering is awesome. The only crit I have is to practice more figure studies and anatomy. Your doing the right thing when drawing from life, but you need to practice more full body studies. Ive also been aplying for art colleges, yet I have declined to sign up for scholarships just yet. Ill get on it. Doing real well here and cant wait for more.
what art school are you planning to attend? just make sure you attend the right one for the kind of art you do!
Wow you got a pretty awesome start~!! I am in awe of the skill you have at such an age~!! I do try to think of age as just a number though....it's hard sometimes!!!!
Keep up the fantastic work~!!!
it's a sketchbook....
Thank you everybody so much for the feedback! =)
Envisor: Thanks. I am looking at RISD and MICA mostly but if my luck runs bad I might wind up at Kansas City...or if my luck runs really good maybe Ringling? I'm not sure yet. This summer I hope to visit some campuses. More figure studies comin' right up! (I draw at school ALL the time so sometimes I draw my classmates when they sit still long enough and don't get creeped out by me staring at them and at home I draw from anatomy books.)
Zoroko: Thank you! =)
yungks.ae: Is RISD or MICA good for concept art?
RISD might not be a good idea for if you plan on becoming a concept (film or video game) artist; from what I know it's not really geared towards computer tablet-based art, and more focussed on traditional media; I could be wrong, but I'm developing my portfolio for my Drawing and Painting AP and I plan not to paint exactly what I normally do but stuff that's more idealogically drawn... it's always good to speak to an art teacher who you trust, too, to know what art school you should get into from the kind of art you do.Originally Posted by Epikyungks.ae: Is RISD or MICA good for concept art?
I am not sure about MICA, sorry!
You have a well balanced sketchbook going on!
The time taking on this one really shows through: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1170897791 It's an awesome piece. The abstract styled rendering on the rhino one is interesting too.
I wish you luck with applying.
