Update on that thing I've been working on. Slow progress to be sure. Had a kind of artistic version of the slapping scene in Chinatown, telling myself " I'm a draftsman, I'm a painter, I'm a draftsman, I'm a painter" until I finally broke down sobbing and shrieking " I'm a draftsman and a painter!"
So...anyways, here's the results of that so far. Thanks to Udoncrew over at Deviantart for giving me the courage to let the lines show through now and then.
And yes, for those of you thinking of informing me about it, I'm aware that that guy looks a little too much like Link from Legend of Zelda. It's just too late to do anything about it.

Hey gtgauvin! How's it going? Havn't been on the forums in a while Hopefully that will change. I see some strong improvement here, both in anatomy and design for your characters. Nice studies on that last page as well. This lastest WIP is cool too with many characters in an environment. Nice job using the characters eyelines to guide the viewers eye. I will be sure to check back here soon. keep it up!
Sealegs: Thanks for the kind words. Didn't even intend that trick with the eyes, but now that you mention it, I see what you mean.
lilnebo: Thanks. And youve tried clicking the page numbers at the top and bottom of the page, right? If not, maybe it's for the best; I'm not sure how I feel about 13 year-olds looking at some of my work.
Well, as long as I'm posting, another update.
ey, this is coming along very well. I can't wait to see some more! I guess right now just watch out for the faces. They're getting just a tad flat.
Update: Got rid of those goofy shoulderpads, and reduced the size of her chin. I also put some trees in the background, which I think gives a nice sense of depth and atmosphere.
Dose: Trying to leave the faces alone for a while, because I'll get to caught up in them.
Danka: Thanks for that. Figure drawing has always been my strength, but now I'm trying to improve the skills I've neglected, like environments, color, and industrial design.
I like how your recent color works are turning out.
and very nice figure drawings and facial studies in here...
and yes, no one needs an excuse to look at pics of Aki Hoshino!
( although I'm a Reon Kadena man myself....still
Aki is pretty..healthy, good for female figure studies, eh?)
Actually, the female elf at the bottom of your last post reminds me of
Miss Hoshino..don't know why though? hehehe...
I SWEAR ON THE GRAVES OF ALL THE TALENTED FILIPINO ARTISTS WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME, THE FILIPINO ART LEGACY WILL CONTINUE!

Your pencil sketches are amazing!! you make the shading look effortless.
Draw until your hand hurts and then draw some more!!!!
i like it, but that font is killing me. the sketch is... a sketch. I'd like to see it tightened up but as a sketch I understand it probably won't happen. The skintones are a bit muddy I think. Keep it up and can't wait to see more.
Love the pencils and ur lines are awesome! You just need to practice colours , especially skin tones!Try to put more red and orange, studies are also a good practice keep it up
