Hi everyone I'm a new member
I go by the name of Danny, I'm 15 and I've been on various forums(usually about game design) for a few years now. I found my way here through the member Mr.Delicious and his wonderful art.
I'm currently attending High School in Scotland. I have a very crappy art course there and learn zero to nothing, but I intend to take a digital art course and University in the near future.
I'm very much a begginer, I'm great with a pencil bit of paper and a nice reference, but in honesty I really need to work on my skills in area such as concepts and anatomy, hopefully that'll come in time with plenty of practice. I'm fond of markers and inking. I want to develop in various styles, I love alot of the modern looking pieces around the forum, theres some great design going on. I wouldn't mind picking up some cartooning styles cause I love comics.
I have a wacom, I haven't broke into as of yet, lets hope I can change that.
Any questions are welcome, I hope I meet a few friends around here, I'll do my best to be active, the teen challenge looks interesting
I believe I read in the OP that if I want to introduce myself, this thread is the proper place?
I'm an aspiring artist... obviously, or I wouldn't be here. I've been drawing most of my life, but took a side-trip into writing a long time ago. Because of this, I've never really taken my art seriously.
Now that I'm no longer pursuing writing, I find my love for art is still here. I just feel kind of dumb because I'm 36 and yet I can't draw things that really, I should have learned in my childhood.
I received a couple recommendations for this site, one from a writer's forum and one from another artists' forum. I want to at least learn how to make my artwork better, and possibly of professional quality. I like to do pencil and pen, and I also enjoy using the computer to enhance my work.
Oh, and my name is Sean.
I decided to check this site back out after hearing Marko on one of my favorite podcasts. Always was a bit intimidated by the quality of work on this site so don't think I posted much, if any, art, but I figure now it won't be too humiliating and I may learn something.
I'm a new member, "hello" all.
sorry about the post i made i didn't read the sticky so whoever deleted it sorry for wasting your time. anyways hello eveyrone
So, Hi. I'm Iren van Oosterom, 16 years of age, currently living in The Netherlands and I'm called "Fshoo" on the webz. Started drawing like, 2 years ago I think. I followed art classes for over half a year now, which excited me about everything that has to do with art. I am somewhat flabbergasted by all this great art I found here while lurking. I hope I can add something to the forums in the future

I'm currently 19 and I draw more for fun than anything else, but it's always nice
to see improvement in one's hobbies.

I'm new to the CA so I thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.
I've been lurking on the site for a few years and I've decided to get a little more involved.
I'm a tracker at Weta Digital but my dream would be to become a desiger, concept artist, or matte painter.
So I'm going to invest in some new hardware soon. Would some one please direct me to a thread where they are discussing the best setup for digital artists? Do people use Tablet PCs? Thanks.
Well I'm sure you all guessed it, but I'm new here. (No surprise there right?) I've been a member for quite some time, but i just started to really visit. (Just got a new conputer cause my last one crashed.)
You can call me Snkchrmer, I'm pretty young, but I'm good and that's all that truely counts. I'm going to start trying to post some of my thing, hopefully I'll get some feed back.

Hi ^^ I'm new here too. My name is Deanna (also known as Deedee) and I am from California. Drawing is my passion, i've been drawing since I was like 3 xD. I have recently been interested in webcomics and illustrating webcomics/graphic novels. Good to be here .
Hi, I'm CocoV3. I'm new from somewhere.
Hi guys nice to meet you all......
My name is Steve i am 40 and from Northumberland in the UK,i first got into cg a few years ago making sigs in photoshop, then progressed to 3d modeling and now i have found digital art and that is where i truely want to stay, especially after spending a little time looking around this wonderful site.
I have no art training what so ever and what little i do know i about traditional and digital art i have learned from the net so being new to digital painting, concept art etc it may be awhile before i have anything created as i fear it will be a slow steep learning curve, but well worth it indeed.
thanks for the site and all the inspiration it holds, you have some amazing talented artists here, and i can't wait to get some feedback on my creations

Hi! My name's Rachel but online everywhere I go by Nyc. I am a older-than-dirt beginner-level (though I've been playing around at it a long time) artist so I don't expect you'll see a ton of my stuff, but I think this forum is great, so I'm lurking and trying to absorb hints and tutorials.
Pleased to meet you all!
I am especially hoping to improve my sculpting, though your stuff makes me want to fire up the Wacom I got for Christmas (mostly it just frustrates me).
O Spirit, whom the Father sent To spread abroad the firmament.
Oh wind of heaven, by Thy might Save all who dare the eagle's flight.
And keep them by thy watchful care From every peril in the air. -Navy Hymn

Hello, my name is Micki From Johannsen, i live in Denmark
As i type this, i am 20 years old... And i'm a guy...
My hobbies are watching TV and DVD's, reading certain comics, discussing on certain forum boards, and i love candy (i concider, eating that as a hobby as well)
I spend most of my online times on the 3DRealms forum boards, where i discuss various things, and in my more real life-ish conditions, i don't really do much... I look for various places that could lead me to jobs that make use of artistic skills of any kind, and hope i may become usefull in one way or another...
In my free time i draw very much, it's been a sort of main-hobby of mine, and i hope i can make better use of it one day, more than just a hobby, but also being productive on my own or in association with other people, or even companies...
I don't specialize in certain things yet, i haven't had any form of education or academic skill that brought me to the level i am today, and i doubt i'd be able to reach the level of most of the great artists i've seen stuff of...
But since drawing is the only thing i seem to naturally excel at, i will keep my focus on that at all times...
My artistic skills vary from that of 'nice' 'decent' and 'creative' most of the time, whenever i care to put in some effort in what i make...
I am part of the gaming website Duke4.net where i take care of the main site and forums alongside with rest of the crew there... We plan to expand our network into something much larger in the future, i am happy to be part of that...
I realize coming here to brag about art is hardly anything i can be part of, but i hope i'm accepted by the community here anyhow, where i suppose 'great skill' isn't neccessarily needed, but more the ambition of becoming one of them cool Conceptual artists one day will be appreciated...
So hello everyone, i'm happy you bothered to read through this short life story, half of it was probably not necessary to add here at all, haha...
A true genius does not need such things as 'common sense'
josie am I and as ye can see, I've a preference for pirates ... However, don't be scared - I'm harmless. (If ye've enogh money. ;3)
Well, like nearly 99,99% of ye guys, I'm here to learn more about drawing; especially technical stuff and light/shadow. (Even if photorealism is quite nice, it's not that what I want to reach.)
Still have a nice day/night. :3

☆Jack Sparrow☆: The world's still the same. There's just ... less in it.

I am new here, and I am a little (OK, very) intimidated by the size of this place. I am looking forward improving my art and have some fun on the way!
Hello. New here, I'm a beginner artist (actually I began a few years ago, but don't really think I'm out of the newb-status) from Finland. I'm 15 years old and currently still in school. After school I'm going to try to get in an art academy so I can get a job in the art industry.
I think you will see me in the critique section.
*Dives through the window and proceeds to sprinkle pixie dust everywhere*
I'm a devillishly handsome (blatant lies) 21yr old male!
I decided to go with a refreshing name on this forum, since I always use the same one where-ever I go, so... yus!
I'm from England, yet attempting to establish myself in Finland (quite hard apparently!) so when im not on the Isle of Wight, i'm in Espoo, Finland.
Unemployed (the hard bit of moving to Finland without knowing Finnish!), but hoping this lack of job gives me the opportunity to get my foot in the door of a more creative career.
I've been drawing since about the same time I found my brothers Garfield books as a kid. Before that, I hated art, was more into science and such.
Then the tables turned, I ran screaming into art and have never looked back. Which means i've been doodling over a decade now! As for Science, well if High School was anything to go by, Science was more like Sigh...ence...
Over the last few years i've mostly been dabbling in Photoshop and photomanipulations, but feel now that the time to fine-tune (and damn, do I need some fine-tuning) the old illustration side of things. Because I love to draw.
Don't have a scanner oooor a tablet at the present time, though would love the latter. But i'm one of those folks that is really critical of his own works and so never uploads anything I, myself, don't like.
So yeah, I hope to soak up the wisdom that is bound in these forums and enhance my skillset, because you're all inspirational buggers :> plus, not to mention, DROWN YOU ALL in a sea of text.
Hello. I'm from Baguio City, Philippines. Looking forward to posting hereat CA and learning from you all. Did advertising work for the past 17 years in the Middle East, Japan and here, Philippines. Still do conceptual art as my escape to the open.
Now I am kind of kind of bored, with some confusion. Life is here.
Hello, I'm new here.
I am 18 years old, and am still in the begining stages of my learning. Like just about everyone and their brother, I would love nothing more than to make a living off of my art; but I fear that I am far behind the curb with my current skills. I am very serious about improving, and will accept any advice one may give.
I'm China Rockett, thus the username, an' I'm fresh out of highschool. Somebody showed this site to me a while back, and I about died looking at the spectacular artists linked up yonder.
Now I'm here, attracted mostly by the DSG, where I can excersize my art muscles regularly!
Im Drew, Im 15(yeah I know, yet another eager teenager), and I found this site through a few peeps over at cgpad and cgtalk. Lots of incredible art everywhere I look, I love it(inspired x100).
Ive been a growing 3d artist(generally in more alternative styles eg Francious Gutherz etc) for the past few years, but I made the jump into 2d just this past april(Ive been sketching and doodling since I was 2, so this had to happen eventually), and so far Im loving it. Theres something really satisfying about the painting process.
Im also a big fan of music(I perform pretty regularly). Basically any type of music actually, rap to classical, emo to jazz.
Anyway, I came here mostly to start a sketchbook and get some critiques on my work, you know, learn everything I can. Id really like to pursue concept art of some kind as a career(that or the music thing).
So yeah, check out my sketchbook if you get some time, Id really appreciate it :]. Thanks everybody who keeps this forum going or posts their work here, it never ceases to amaze me what people can do.
