Really digging that first one. How did you go about creating it?
I started with a simple sphere in a 3D program called modo. I pushed and pulled it untill I got a basic shape that I liked and then I added some random spiky extrusions. i lit it with an area light which gives a nice soft look. I also did some brushing in photoshop to brake up the cg look.
experimenting shapes and colors with zbrush , painter & photoshop. for this image a poor sphere had to be tortured ....

It's not a grasshopper..it's just a random shape that kinda looked to me like a bird....so I gave it the name "bird of pray"Originally Posted by asoirwowoowwow, these are incredible, no.2 is simply perfect.
is the last one a grasshopper? love how it makes you look into it for a while
I really wanna either touch the first one, or hit someone with it. Depending on where I am... heh...
The second one, for some reason, makes me think of a 1950's toaster growing all metallic like. Yeah...
Anyway, cool stuff
Look, you know what I mean. You take a bunch of people who don’t seem any different from you or me, but when you add them all together you get this sort of huge raving maniac with national borders and an anthem.
