Hey everyone @ conceptart.org. My name is mel, second year economics student... In the holidays my parents told me that after I get my degree I can choose to study abroad ( specifically in 3D Animations [Visual Communications I think] ) Now in High school I didn't do art so thus i find my self in the position of having to learn how 2 draw and paint over the next two years so I can have a decent portfolio to submit....
Sadly I find myself in the position unable to pay for lessons
What I'm hoping for is some critiques on my sketching and tips and advice. I'll be posting my latest sketching regularly so continual advice/crit would be awesome...
The first picture is the first I drew with the intention to learn (about over a month ago) and followed by later work (chronologically ordered)
so once again any crit/comments/advice/tips would be appreciated..
Nice start to your SB mate, keep up what youre doing, especially the anatomical work. What Im seeing is a line quality issue as well, you seem to 'chicken scratch' the lines in the observation pieces. Try to aim for bold, clean lines, confident strokes, they will definitely strengthen your pencil work.
thanks 4 the reply Sirio_Brozzi. ill work on that... Would practicing in pen help at all... I remember reading something about using pen 2 sketch 2 increase confidence...
hey everyone... wit varsity starting I've been swamped wit all the admin and work... But with things getting calmer finally got time 2 get 2 work again...
I decided to work allot slower on this one. Concentrating more on the clothing and shading.. let me know what y'all think///
Great work so far!
I agree with Sirio Brozzi, though~ Try to concentrate on line quality. Shading is good, but I would try to make sure the lines are accurate before going to the shading. Try sketching in contour, and try not to look at photographs: Look at life instead. Try some still-life compositions to get your proportions more accurate, too!
But keep doing what you're doing! Practicing always makes perfect!!
draw big, try to use the all paper to do your studies, your hands have a good movement, but you tend to draw small so you get pointy fingers : ) hope to see your improvement.
If you think you can t Draw, just draw more
awesome will try that...
can u explain what u meanTry sketching in contour
thanks 4 the feedback
practice practice practice....
