Sketchbook: vc's sketchbook - Page 6
Still looking as great as ever, looking forward to the painted Rino
wo that is a great idea to study material with pencil in detail .I LOVE IT i gotta try this myself
holy moly....those are some great great studies. I'm inspired!
Ah shit! These things are really well formed!
Do you happen to Work at High Moon studios?
Those animals are fabulous! They have great attitude and expression, while retaining realistic anatomy. Really looking forward to that rhino.
Wow!!!!!What media do you use to color your animals? Is that ink or watercolor?
I'm stunned by your designs. Those zoo sketches make me want to go there too, and I hate the zoo, go figure what an impact they must have
GREAT design sense. Top notch enviros, but, I love the 'lil critters throughout your SB. Inspiring.
Just more sketches from me. the four portraits where from ref. Thanks for all the comments dudes. I'll get some paintings in here soon.
daveneale: My work stuff is more planned out and figured for perspective, but art for my own personal entertainment is all eyeballed.
Shpow.Iain: No, but I really respect their work
Camara: They are watercolor. Its just easier to grab and do on the run. Other mediums mean hauling around more gear.

ouuu, very nice line quality! The style on that first page is really cool, also those old fashioned portraits look sweeeeet
Yay a post! You make my day
I love the newsie and the other's gesture on the first page. I do think though, that there may be a slight avoidence of feet throughout your sketch?
Excellent pencils, nice style, good SB.. keep it up man, i'll be back for sure ;-)
your work is so funky and varied. very enjoyable. you've inspired me.
Great Stuff as always vc. I agree those portraits are the most impressive out of this bunch to me.
You continue to humble me with your straight-up, wicked awesomeness
Nov. 1 is self portrait day. I hope you all participated. It is always a good activity to get back in gear. I will have my 100 cows up in here soon. That was a great activity as well. Thanks CA
crimson13: Avoiding feet? More like lack of planning and then watching them run off the page. you want feet? I'll give you feet...
Virginia! Man, I forgot and now I am ashamed - and you busted one out in oil and it looks great? :|
Nice 3d environment! Great sketches and keep posting. XD
So here is my contribution to the 100 cow festival. I am really ashamed that I didn't finish on time to enter, but I'm calling it a wip and will update it here when done. Thanks CA for the activities.
this last post is awesome. didn't know they were having that activity. well done. keep at it until you finish.
Love the 100 critters. Unleash them all in color.
it's a shame you didn't have time to get the 100 in on time-there are some awsome designs in there!...I continue to love your work, keep posting...I'm gonna keep coming back for more
That would have been a real good cow, the designs are solid mate . Keep at it and looking forward to seeing them finished, congrats for getting all 100 designs done though. Cheers!
i really like ur artwork ! im in such a good mood right now , after looking over it
but well . .. i have got a little question do u have any little tips for a character beginning - how to start or anything like that , or any sources for proportions?
thanks and respect to your work
daaammnn dude, finish the creatures!! too hot! and very nice traditional stuff, the feets of the boy on the top looking very great. cheerz
Brilliant! Each design has its own personality and I can imagine how each would move. Let's see them all lit up. Keep going!
it's a shame you couldn't finish them...
all of them are very solid concepts and you have a lot of diversity as well.
please finish them all!!
great creatures, you came up with some wonderful shapes.
nice work with the SP!
I really really liked your designs, particularly the beetles and the tunnel diggers. Are you planning on rendering them anyway? although they look great already as they are.
