your an inspiration how long did it take u too get so well at your craft and what advice can u give a new artist looking to get better ????
Forde09- thanks. I've been drawing for about 20 years, since childhood.
My advice to DRAW! Life drawing is the most important tool for getting better at drawing, it teaches your eye to see shapes and light and how they interact in 3D. Also, find out what field you would like to work in, animation ,concept art, illustration, fine art, etc. Once you find you calling, learn about the field and produce art that is relevant to it. But the most important thing no mater what filed you go into is DRAW! Keep drawing anything and everything and anytime. Because practice makes perfect. Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.
Here is piece for the art challenge over on Art Blog. It's two vampires named Gwenth and Garreth.
Had a lot of fun with this piece, except the vertical quarter page dimensions felt a bit cramped at times. The final had top be pure B&W no greys, but for here I added some grey halftones.
great goodness man, you have incredible skill I like your designs a lot.
and thanks for the reminder that practice is key hehe, surprisingly, though I see that principle put to task every day here on the board, itīs easy for me to fall in the pit of complacency.
keep up man
hey man i see you're progressing steadily without slowing down one bit, kudos!
really liked the eagle-spirit, you're developing a great digital inking style!
really liking most of the "Gwenth and Garreth" piece, apart from some issue, like the fact that its a bit "over crowded" imho
loving the work on Garreth's armor, xept those shoulder pads look really uncomfortable
there's something fucked up with Gwenth's raised arm imho, esp in the houlder area, with gives it a weird look, and look out for those tangets (like the stuff wrapped around her arm "connected" to the mountain line, the tip of a cloud touching the sword and stuff like that, cause altho they are really small details the kinda ruin the sense of depth
keep doing what you're doing man, and thanks for sharing!
Darkside- thank you.
TheGnoll- thanks for the great crits! I really appreciate you stopping by.
Just a few roughs for some creature heads. I will develop these further.
