Don't beat yourself up about it, they're not looking terrible, at least you have an idea to be developed... just have to find your way!
I thought this quote "Study without desire spoils the memory, and it retains nothing that it takes in." by Da Vinci was fitting somehow, remember to enjoy and want to learn/ absorb what you are studying ;o
thanks for the LNRA tutorial : a never thought a man would use rgb to mix color (crazy !!!)
i like how you try different style, and it gives you beautifull results.
i like the thinking girl #381
hey if you're lacking creativity, just do some studies or copy something for the daily drawing and don't bother yourself,
all great draftmen can lay one good drawing on a heap of other
so just keep your hardwork and it will be fine
Helioth: thanks! I'll keep that quote in mind!
zou: thanks for the advice
Went out today...managed to do a daily SP...the proportion isn't too good, im sure perspective is off and likeness is totally shit...still trying to work out colour as always but I think I got too lazy eventually and didn't mix enough colours to provide variation of hues...really tired atm...its 4am...I think I'll call it a day..
Nice job on the SP's, mate.
Hay man really enjoyed looking though your sketchbook mate.
love the studies (real cool pelvis study back there), especially the life drawings.
really dig the brushwork you use with the digis as well.
good sp, and cant wait to see your TC entry.
You really seem to put a lot of time and effort into your work and iy shows.
keep it up,
You made me look like i might actually be cool in real life! heh! cheers.
Keep at it mate, it's a long road but it pays off the more you work at it with the intent of improving.
Don't be afraid to use more reference( photo, video, life drawing etc...) forget all that "i can draw from my head" nonsense for now, your just stunting your growth as an artist if you live by that notion, build that library in your head first mate
well it's not a bad sp, do you think about edges much though?
there's plenty of edge tutorials here on ca... might be of some use to you.
Great work man! Good studies and the SP are cool!!
wow thanks for the replies guys, I thought no one checks this sb lol...
NoodleDoodle: Thanks you!
HunterKiller_: thanks dude...will try to work harder.
JailHouseRock2: sorry to disappoint man, couldn't get my TC done in time...didn't have an idea that i liked anyway...
Rusty: you're absolutely right man, I definitely need more work. Thanks for stopping by, you're a real inspiration to me (A lot cooler in real life too! )
DanielC: haha I waaaas wearing something was kind of a last minute SP though haha, was about to go to sleep when I remembered my obligations PS: its summer down here
Helioth: you're right, I definitely don't think about edge relationships enough, thanks heaps for pointing that out!
D@niel: wow, its a honour to get a comment from you man! Thanks for being a constant inspiration
So...updating a bit late...this one's for covering yesterdays...will do a SP tonight and update again
Just found out yesterday that a friend of mine is moving out of the country, it also happens to be her birthday today, since I couldn't think of anything to get her I rushed out a drawing for her. I'm really disappointed that I couldn't get the likeness down very well (looks like 3 different people urgh)...I guess drawing from facebook photos with bad lighting doesn't help but thats just making excuses...its the same problem with my self-portraits too...I need to train my eyes and work on proportions and compare more.
SP...not my greatest effort...
Rusty nailed it on the head...my anatomy is total shit...time to go back to studies...
By later ...i mean now! haha yeah its true...i forgot to update last night...well its 12:48 am here in nz so technically its wednesday!
my face is cramping up from posing for this one haha...probably should have taken a photo instead...

something very comical about your last one, I like it!
Kronos: haha thanks man
Helioth: hehe I thought it was pretty funny too.
Life drawing today...better than last time but still got pretty frustrated...
SP...concentrated on edges a bit more this time...what do you guys think?
haha, the sp above that last post is awesome man, silly awesome. life drawings are looking good, looks like you have a feel for the forms and contours of the figure, proportions aren't too shabby either, solid stuff.

Only just noticed the portraits you did for your leaving friend, more patience in making those lines!
Actually, I can recognize your self portraits as being you, but only just on some of them.
Don't let any of this discourage you though!
The latest self portrait is looking much better. Keep it up man!
wookiedabo: thanks man, I appreciate it!
Hive_minD: thanks, will do!
Kronos: haha alright..i did one today just for you
Helioth: don't worry, crits are always welcome thanks man!
Max Challie: thanks dude!
More silliness (this made me realise I can't stick my tongue out very far...)
Hey Allan, I maybe you've seen this before, but I thought you'd like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ5jq...eature=related
The funny facial expressions are good, but I want more pencils!
Verehin: thanks man! your stuff is pretty awesome too!
DanielC: thanks dude
Max Challie: heh alright, ill post some pencils tomorrow
sketcheth: who's inspiring? you of course silly
jedininjaman: thank you
urgh..slacked off a bit too much today...kinda slacked on this SP too.. couldnt finish it cuz it got a bit frustrating, I dunno...I think I dont really know what I'm doing when picking colours these days. The process seems to be a bit hit-or-miss, I think i should do some studies....
