hey man sorry for not commenting here in aaaaaaages, been really busy recently...
anyways i agree with bluefruitbowl about the position of homer's body. also, i would like to say that i can see and always have believed, that you are someone who is motivated and full of creativity. but i still would like to tell you to slow down a bit...make definite confident lines that mean something to the piece as a whole and not just confident fast lines that are there. what im trying to say that is let your mind guide the hand more, not the other way around.
basically....i suggesting that you balance out the amount of studies and experimentation , Use the knowledge from the studies in your experimental works and i'm sure you'd improve more. trying out different mediums is great, but its always better with a solid footing on the foundations of anatomy, perspective, colour theory etc etc...
anyways thats my big rant, sorry if i came out as being harsh...I'm really looking forward to the fruitions of your art journey so keep working hard man...supporting you all the way
gulzaar- hehe thanks bro! see you at the meaty meet!
girl who hasn't updated yet- thanks! ive noticed the brush thing

wow you have really improved since the begining of your sketch book.
good getting better.
keep it up.
some stuff, caption underneath
odd selfportrait, with artsy photo added
wip digi portrait (you know what happens to these wips... but i learnt some on lighting!)
crap genie sketch shit
non ref portrait that im kinda pleased with! excuse the paper quality, theres bumps all over the place..
http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1175540528 yaaaaaaaaaaay charcoal! I really like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...6&d=1175767094 . http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1175540548 looks distorted because the face profile and the eyes look turned, but the mouth and nose don't. Try putting in some face guidelines every now and then?
I have been drawing. Just not updating. :]
Wow,weird beautiful things!
It's abstract and I have no complaints about that...
But some are engaging, some are not...
But all serves a purpose in your studies.
hey asoir, i didn't know you were 15, so i am i, must be because you act so mature, anyway keep up the work.
to the talent of the young artist.
lee- thanks man, i'm glad too...its helped (will continue to do them too)
bard- thanks, i agree that some stuff gets a bit lazy..im still experimenting, trying to see whats working and whats not, hopefully improving my future stuff. thanks again!
markey's- heh, thanks!
more experimentzZz, trying to get something good going...
on an unrelated note, anyone who likes jazz or just plain brilliance- PLEASE listen to max by paolo conte. incredible song
Thanks for hounding me :]
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175815064 awesome study. Nice brush handling.
Nice colors in the two ones after that I prefer http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175815107 because motion blurs are kinda... ehh. you know? Lovely color palette. Actually, your colors have gotten lots better in general. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175978605 The chisel/angled brush is kind of distracting, I think. Colors really jive though.
you have your serious face on in this
its funny, with pencil you push around the graphite likes its nobody's sister, yknow, loose n'all
but with charcaol you seem to take your time more, when it should be the opposite
I would go for stronger blacks, sometimes exaggerating them around the eye socket.
i think ive grasped patience now...im rendering stuff slower, drawing calmer... its nice, i think my work could start improving from here onwards- i feel pumped! also im studying more...and actually feel like im learning from it, its enjoyable. maybe im just getting old
work in progress sketch, theres going to be something creeping up on this poor dude!
Pff, you are clearly getting old, you old fogey, you. That pen study is darling, nice hatching. The guys hat looks a bit distorted. I'm not really sure why. I really like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176152769 the right arm/hand. Whoohoo for. umm. pie.
Basically this comment is kind of useless, I think.
Nice sketchbook dude. Your style is developing quite nicely. WOuld love to see some life drawings, figure studies. Only if you have of them of course. Keep up the good work.
ok, saw the old inked guy, and its like whoa! so from now on im expecting really really good things from you. you can do it well, now you gotta do it more consistently, k? one thing on faces, it might help to draw a very light straight line across the front plane of the face to line up the eyes, cause sometimes your eyes are misaligned with the face. hope it helps, peace m.
firstly, i got the nicolaides book. jeebus its going to be a long journey, but in the background im going to do his exercises slowly...hopefully helping my progress. inspiring book, amazing how it gets you drawing instantly. if only contour drawing was a bit less boring now...
mia- didnt notice the hat thing before, great eye! tanx 4 teh st0fz
envisor- thanks man, i'll keep drawing. theres some life stuff, master stuff and other in this update, was from the meet mostly...
aaron- thanks, ive started taking time on the faces, with the line thing you said too...its helping. im liking this patience thing more and more
wakazou- thanks so much! im glad you see improvement!
BUNNNCHA stuff, mixed from studies, lifeys and i dunnoys...big update anyway...better get started
this is the sorta work I love seeing from you!
I could lick the ink right outta that page
I like the ballpoint pen stuff, think you went overboard with the shading tho..
aww fuck you, we did the same masterstudy:0
yay the thread loaded -_-
lee- thanks, i've done some actually...*goes to scan* nearly forgot! only the hands mind you...
alex- haha, except i did the master in person!
i didnt really intend to scan the hand pages, i learnt a lot from them but they're not supposed to be pretty or anything. lots of random digi shit too
pretty much a big ugly dump! i work incredibly disorganised
i borrowed hpx's branding thang...heh
Quite like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176493674 because the colors are so electric. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176493852 has really clean lines, your penwork's lovely. Liking the studies lots, they're really giving a sense of movement to your other stuff. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647293 nice colors, but use a bigger brush? http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647320 WHOOHOO! HANDS! Which makes me think, those hands look really nice because it seemed like you really knew where your lines were going. Try doing that in your non-studies, being economical with you lines like this http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647276 has a lot of stray lines.
