Really great stuff lately, man. So goddamn expressive, particularly with the brush pen. That skull one (yeracuntrag - I can't believe you called a piece that!) is excellent. Have you checked out Terada's work at all because your ink work really reminds me of his looser doodles.
Keep it up, fella!
Ps, Yay! Post-its!!!
Nice update I like the note-page , this one
Also, your ben_olson emulation is good.. But not as a ben-emulation, but as a piece ! Keep it up dude
oldnoobie- hey man! thank you, i really must get down and dirty with the slower stuff...i've done a little bit of bridgman to get me in the mood, im rusty! thanks again.
oishiiniku- firstly, your name is badass. LOL @ cunt rag thing, i kinda liked the word...need to stop using it infront of friends and family though katsuya terada? oh don't even! none of my stuff is allowed to even remotely remind you of his, he's a god haha. admittedly i copied your post-it thang, it's fun got an old paint one for you now actually, peace man!
dile- thanks man, really appreciate it, im gonna start slipping in those illo's in science more often
i stuck some blu-tack on my mannequin for quick ref, it's super helpful for the basic head shape...try it! check out the lounge..
Moving in the right direction my friend <> more Bridgman <> thanks for dropping by my threads
thanks for stopping by my book mate.
Like what's happening here. Watch your line - as few lines as possible is the dictum. Ben Olsen piece is interesting, great artist to work from. Study his images - see how many colours he actually weaves into his work, how he describes form with it and how he creates mood with it.
Keep up the bridgman, it's definitely coming through in your work.
mentler- good to see you! thanks, keep on truckin'
lee- yeah, rustiness! i get loose...i need to crack the old fingers firstly hehe
brendan- thank you! i must do so, infact i've done a colour study to help me get to grips with the jelly like subject, it's blooming tough.
pretty happy with this!
its the blu-tacked mannequin
edited with mini new thingy

COME ON SHIT HOLE!
MORE STUDIES! MORE LIFE WORK! MORE CONTRAST!
Get it going man, draw the fuckers who are crawling all around you! Even if they move, just draw a leg or an arm, go as fast as you can and then as slow as you can. Do a pure contour, focusing on capturing form, then do the most constructed way you can (With rectangles and angles and such) with focus on capturing form.
FORM FOMR FORM FORM!!! GO GO GO GO!
marco, your blowing my brain man.
the sheer energy and spontanteouness(sp) of your work is EXHILERATING
did dile show you that film clip of the dood who draws like you?
best thing from you, ever. amen
last digi is sweet, dont like the blue bg though, but i would like to see more graphic elements/texture in your work, even if it a photo overlay or sumthing, or some abstract brushes in the bg.
this is what i like to see, his face has character too.
and you used the mannequin to its potential, with good propotions etc, me likes: ;
On the faces, sometimes think out the square( i know you are..but), think of smaller features that give the piece originality.
warts, bumps, burns, wrinkles, fleckles, wrinkles, cross eyed eyes, patches of hair missing etc.
Use your face for reference, cos im sure you have lots o those things above
hot paint, but its sorta topo dark, needs sections where the light hit.
this one is cool, i like the scene, you should do more of that, integrate different elements and figures into your work.
lmao at the science pic, ive done the exact same work, lolol
btw i started a portrait of you, but fked up the eyes.
probably wont fin. it but mite do a photochop version of you olol.!

(and a closeup)
title of the piece at the mo' is The Pugilist's Last Round
ps. i added the chinese characters (says marco btw ) at the last minute so its not in the closeup
Thanks for your comment in my sb.
Your work shows a great amount of energy and dynamics, what you could try is to use it more effectively. Use it to emphasize what is important, or what you want to express, and contrast your "raw" handling with more careful or subdued strokes. This will probably improve anyway as you progress and get more careful and selective. You should also do more observational drawing and use that to take yoir ideas and imagination further.
In your digital work, you could try to use the biggest brush you can to paint a certain area and get rid of the pecky strokes.
Whatever you do, keep that vitality in your work!
Sup Marco. You're actually on the good track, your linework is good it does not suffer from extreme symptoms of chicken scratch.
When you paint two thing to keep in mind, first, don't paint on black or white background, it will mess up your color perception. Secondly white as a highlight is to be used in much moderation, otherwise instead of a highlight it will read as a whole light area and white flattens everything.
Anyway, keep working and keep going.

hey i love your sketches, theyre so distinct and creative
check out my sketchbook that i just started!
Hey man! Wanna thank ya piles for all the support man, you the greatest!
Love the stuff man, the creativity inhere is dang rare ya know! Too little wackyness and such these days, but YOU, you balance the scales brotha! Good progression too, the studies you do have a very noticable effect in your skills, keep them commin. A very refreshing visit! Keep it up mang!
The recent boxer dude, he's looking really distorted. Arms suggest that you are looking at this guy in 3/4ths. Chest looks straight on. No twist of neck. Left arm/armpit has this cubist thing going on. It looks confused. Try blocking in the shapes of his body before moving on to the details of, say, his gloves. Colors look pretty good, though. Seem to be working together and all.
wow, super nice response, yummy crits!
repeat-thank you very much! thanks for the tip!
evil- haha, cheers! i understand about the white highlighting, i had trouble not doing it on the boxing glove though, it reflects white mostly so i hadnt any other choice
daniel- hehe thanks
orifice- yipes, thanks for the incredibly nice comment!
blue- thanks!! will get my head down on that piece soon, cheers
old- hehe, my bro said the same thing thanks!
i havent worked on that piece yet but...i have a TON of shit to show
yes, that is lifed from me shitting on the bog!
Use a hard edge white then, but don't make it ubiquituous.
