Hi guys! I'm a long time lurker (for a couple years lol) and just now decided to sign up. I'm not used to posting my drawings online so bare with me :p I just have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment and need something to keep myself occupied since my Dr. has threatened to put me on a bed rest *joy*.
So, I bought and have started a new sketchbook to help broaden my range of drawing. I'm typically pretty boring with my drawings(one character, same pose, no background or scene, just blah) and I would love to change that and learn how to incorporate something like a story or something to make the drawing more interesting.
So, with that said, my first drawing in the new sketchbook. I have changed it many times and I'm not quite sure where I want to go with it. I had tiny little fairy thing but I felt that was too over done so I'm trying to come up with something else that might be a bit "different".
(I did use the "Pose Maniacs" website that was posted in another thread for idea for the pose)
Nice first drawing. Sorry to hear about your need for bed rest. I hope you manage to make the best of it. I'm curious how far you will take yourself in your drawing journey. Your avatar also made me curious if you are you familiar with Uru?
You have neat lines :o
Very nice start, just post some more!
Well, I like drawing and I messed around with Photo realism for a while, but looking at something and redrawing it in graphite or charcoal just wasn't...creative to me. I want to open up my creativity to where I can put on paper what I come up with. I just find that to be extremely difficult and tend to get frustrated. I'm trying to teach myself to relax and just let the pencil flow and that there is nothing wrong with a rough sketch. Perfection isn't everything.
No, i am not familiar with Uru. I do like that quote though because it's true :p
Trying something different from my norm. Trying to get my "creepiness" on. I need to work on that :p
First post looks really good, clean lines is good
totally different style with the latest update with that little guy you made
Nice pictures! I love how neat the first one is. Also, the fabrics are very well done.
Here's my sketchbook!
The little guy started out as something different, but then I realized what it looked like and changed it. I like experimenting with different styles, but most of my works have clean lines.
Now, there's a reason I don't draw in a cartoon style, I'm bad at it lol :p My bf likes to watch cartoons and he was watching them this morning. So, I thought I would give it a try. I must say that trying to draw the same character over in different facial features is difficult.
